HighlightX is a privacy-focused Chrome extension to let you use popular AI models such as GPT-4o Omni, Gemini 1.5 Flash or Claude to ask anything, write anything, summarize web content and Youtube video.

- (2025-06-09) Robert Francis Beck: I found that the extensions Tab that poke out of the right side of the screen to be very annoying and gets in the way. Plus, when it asked me to log in using an email address, I just got a spinning arrow! Useless extension for me. I would never consider it again. Totally useless. Do not bother with it. But there is another... There is a much better AI extension, that even the free version is feature packed. It's called "HARPA AI". If you have a paid account with Open AI, just log in in a browser Windows, and you have access to all Open AI Plus, or Pro models on a side bar. Same with Gemini. They seem to know who you are to. Or if you want to not use a paid account you can enter your Open AI API key and use all the Open AI models you can afford. Also, you can use your Open Router API key and use any of their models. HARPA AI also has a paid account called S1, i use it for now, I don't really need it, but if you don't have a paid Open AI account, or Gemini Advanced, $12/Mo gets you a lot of Mega Tokens to spend. I never run out. It's fun! Try it. And I am HARD to please. So, take that for what it's worth!

- (2024-11-12) Anton Dragan: The first actually usable local AI Youtube summerizer I've seen so far. Kudos to the team! Tip to the team: Add "Ollama" to the name of the extension for more people people to find this hidden gem!
- (2024-09-28) Firebeast979: This is a very good AI web assistant, and it allows local models, which is even better. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Definitely underrated. It would be nice if you could generate images locally with a civit ai model are something, but I understand that can be hard to do.
