- (2020-03-19) Tony Scolieri: Great to keep my skills up to date. It's fun. I won't play Backgammon too much though, because the real challenge is Chess. No dice, no luck.
- (2019-02-19) Barbara Joan Burger: The rolls are most definitely rigged especially when you get to the expert level. I've written random number generator programs that work way better than this one. I can not believe that a random generator would give you 4 (and this happened to me numerous times) of the same rolls in a row. . When I see the program starting to roll out too many identical rolls in a row I clear out my history and then, amazingly, that stops happening. Also, as aside, as an expert player I can not understand some of the bad moves the computer has made when they had the option of better ones. I just want fair play no matter which side wins. As an expert player I expect to lose sometimes but when I win I want it to be because of a fair game not because the computer gave me an amazing, and stupid, opening.
- (2018-06-17) Juliet Boone: super fun to play
- (2018-01-01) Wayne Hayes: Well done! The best Chrome Backgammon by far. Thanks for such a fine pp!
- (2017-10-25) Carlos Mejias: It cheats, not good, won't let you undo, it steels your options when taking out peaces... SUCKS..!!!
- (2017-09-30) Josh M: Does not have online play with other users
- (2017-08-20) Martha Childs: So rigged
- (2017-08-19) tarquin bullocks: Computer just committed suicide against me by moving stones inside its own home instead of taking them off.
- (2017-08-17) Flemming Ernst: Way way way to easy!
- (2017-07-23) Guest 26118280: Played for a while using the expert mode, but it has a major flaw. I rolled a four and a six. I wanted to move six to win, but when I tried to move the pip six, it went four. Lost the game as I could not move the pip on one. The fix should be easy if you program the game to move the larger number first when there is a choice. I have also noticed that the rolls may seem to be more useful for the computer opponent, but I kept track of the score for a number of games and maintained an average of over seventy percent of the total points.
- (2017-07-22) Leroy Grant: Been playing for over 3 years, but now can't play because of a slow down due to excessive ads.
- (2017-07-21) rachael ferguson: very poor program
- (2017-07-19) S MS: even on Expert level the computer is an not a bad player, it's an extremely bad player - makes a lot of stupid moves and then covers itself by giving itself doubles multiple times. Not Worth the trouble.
- (2017-07-19) Nancy Hopkins: It is fun and challenging.
- (2017-07-19) Leslie Au: Rigged dice throws by machine. 4 doubles in a row and 6 doubles out of 7 throws. After every Double cube offer by machine, it either hits an open stone or throws a double. Fake Backgammon, no chance involved. It lets you win some and then it wins when it wants to.
- (2017-07-18) Pat Major: The program gets its perfect rolls just when it needs them...SO FRUSTRATING If you want to get frustrated play this game..otherwise Forget it
- (2017-07-13) Edward Glynn: The movement of stones on the board is a little difficult compared to other backgammon games. I agree with other reviewers that the rolls appear to be biased from time to time. Also, the computer exposes stones on points when it does not have to. The counting for bearing off is sometimes wrong. With a stone on the 1 and 2 points with a roll of 1 and 2, it will move a stone 1 and then take the 2 to bear off instead of removing both stones. Similar problems occur with other combinations of numbers.
- (2017-07-10) eugene patterson: great game
- (2017-07-08) Larry Daniuk: LOVE BACKGAMMON,however, playing as an "EXPERT" on this site is BORING". The site's dice are heavily weighted & always in their favor. The site consistently enjoys rolls of doubles, and rolls of extreme perfection. These rolls defy lady luck. In fact no player could be this lucky. The game lacks the thrill, the rolls of the dice swing one-direction. Yet 24-7's site is programmed to lose. The site does not manage the board, nor employ good strategy, for setting up as well the roll off. If desired, 24-7 could have developed a site that could never be beaten.
- (2017-07-06) Zanna Holmes: Terrible AI
- (2017-07-05) David Kerwin: Seriously. I'm killing it and finally open a spot. It rolls: 5-5, 6-5, 6-5, 5-5 and 6-6 in a row. Like others said: 1) it cheats like crazy (3 double 6's in 4 rolls just when it needs them; a 5-4 as the only possible roll to get back on the board and hit me; it won 5 straight opening rolls) 2) I wish the graphics were a little faster 3) stats would be nice 4) I wish I could play top to bottom instead of bottom to top. Update - it has gotten better since I learned how to cheat back: simply refresh the page before moving (or before it finishes moving a cheat roll.
- (2017-06-30) rosemary mccarthy: So rigged it's laughable. So obvious it's pathetic.
- (2017-06-25) Rogue Scholar: The computer cheats outrageously. Totally unplayable piece of junk. The aggressive advertisements slow the graphics down! POS
- (2017-06-19) Barbara Walker-Guilbeaux: Love it!!!
- (2017-06-17) David Fox: Slow poor competitive play. Weird.
- (2017-06-17) Mary Hauck: This is so riged against the player. Way too many lucky rolls and doubles at just the right time. I've played other backgammon games on the computer and this never happens with the other programs.
- (2017-06-15) Curtis Leake: Agree with others. Last game, i had 3 left, game had 4. You guessed it, game rolled doubles to win...
- (2017-06-12) Jill Cole: Love it! Game works like it should. It gives me a fairly good challenge, but I can still whoop the computer's butt on a regular basis.
- (2017-06-11) Karl S: The expert level is at best an average player.
- (2017-06-08) Michael Cava: I don't like the way the game removes pcs. by wasting a move. I also agree that it is programmed to get the rolls it needs. (Either that or there are a tremendous amount of coincidental rolls. I do like that it is a simple log on an play. Expert mode isn't very expert, though.
- (2017-06-06) Mike Smith: Very suspect 'lucky' dice throws! Whenever you are exposed it always seems to get your number. Also allows doubleing when you need 1 point to win and it needs 6, so computer has nothing to lose, (no crawford rule). No auto take off - boring! No ability to resign.
- (2017-06-04) Linda Hill: The computer does cheat; did it to me 3 times in the last game. It is still ok. The expert rank moves pretty fast. But I am getting sick of the computer cheating!!! Again it cheats when it gets close, not all the time. Doubles 5 times in a row! Shame, Shame!!!
- (2017-06-04) Georgina Bowman: I beat the expert level most of the time, although it does take some thought. This programme is (currently) less predictable than the one which came bundled with my computer.
- (2017-06-02) mel winters: better than msn
- (2017-06-01) Anne E. Thorkelson: I play expert level and beat the computer on a regular basis. The program forfeits far too easily. I have played against beginners that are better than the expert level. As far as the comments that state the computer almosts always get the perfect roll, I'd disagree. If you play at an expert level, you'd have to expect a little bit of an edge for the computer. The whole idea of this game is to try to push back the computers moves. If you're unable to do that on an expert level, then you might try a lower level, although I can't imagine that would be much fun since the program is rather elementary. Still it's a good way to pass time when bored.
- (2017-05-29) A little too easy on Expert mode. Beat it 60%+ of the time and am by no means an expert player myself. Would like to see more automated game play. Why do I have to click "resume" to keep playing in cases where I have no moves???
- (2017-05-29) Nick Herescu: poorly designed and very baic playing strategies. Not much knowledge of the game. Destned to beginers. "Expert" level is pathetic!
- (2017-05-29) Elad Eban: very bad AI
- (2017-05-29) Don Peplow: The computer had a piece not in their last box before going out and were still going out. I thought you had to have all of your pieces in that last block and then go out, but apparently not.
- (2017-05-25) John Wilson: Awful game. I always run a test of thousands of games on the online backgammon and there is definitely a problem with this application. 20,000 games completed and the computer has almost 40% 6's thrown and under 4% 1's thrown. I had a friend who works as statistician (Ph.D in maths and has worked for over 20 years as a statistician) to look at the data and run tests. He said that you'd have to millions of players playing for millions of years to get those sorts of percentages. Sorry but you need to look at your RNG and how you use it to generate the dice throws. A pity as nice graphics and smooth game play but the biased throws mean I will look elsewhere for my online backgammon.
- (2017-05-22) Jeffrey Makuch: I have been playing for 32 years. It is impossible to get a few doubles in a game but to get 3, 4 in a row and 6 times a game, impossible. It is impossible to get the opponent to roll the dice every time they need a number. Not once in awhile but unusual for them NOT TOO. Rigged, false, impossible, just plain ole ridiculous.
- (2017-05-20) cool pad: I read some reviews about how the expert level cheats, but I kept a tally of the scores to determine where the advantage was actually placed. I played many games and my overall score was consistently between seventy and eighty percent of the total number of points. It was about the same no matter which browser I used. In other words, I know it can be frustrating when the game plays three doubles in a row to win, but I do not hear any complaints when the player gets that advantage. Play the easiest level if you insist on always winning.
- (2017-05-16) chris almond: Slow and laboured
- (2017-05-14) Nowhere Man: I used to be annoyed with this game until I figured out how to offset the "perfect" rolls the computer gets. Whenever the computer gets one of those rolls, I pause the game by selecting the hamburger icon (the middle one of the group of 5 appearing above the board) before the computer completes its turn. This pauses the game and allows me to resume or start a new game. By resuming, the computer will make a new roll, thereby eliminating the "perfect" roll. I have no qualms playing the game this way. If the computer is programmed to give itself an advantage, I use the programming to minimize that advantage.
- (2017-05-13) Imad Smaidi: it is a good game espaicaly when your alone i always beat the computer. i like human bean i will keep playing
- (2017-05-13) Michael Anthony: Too many doubles and the computer seems to get just what it needs when it needs it - but - I win way too much ; ) Fun, great graphics, great pastime. Thanks!
- (2017-05-12) Heinrich Schuppisser: no auto bear off no auto roll. adds make the board smaller. "expert" level has major flaw
- (2017-05-11) Kryztian Samuel: I win about 90% of the time - this program is not the greatest strategist. Also, includes add with sound, and when I turn the sound off for the tab, the program keeps turning it back on. I un-installed it after a few rounds. Not sure if Chrome has a better version or not.
- (2017-05-09) Deej Hud: Absolute Garbage! The computer ALWAYS gives itself the doubles and ALWAYS wins. I have one tile to move in and that is on the one spot, the computer has 4 tiles in the 5 and 6 spots and it just happens to roll a double 6 .. this happens more often than not. I hardly get doubles while the computer gets 5 minimum per game. Rubbish!
- (2017-05-06) Amanda Fawcett: Great game! Easy to use. Computer loses a bit too easily.
