- (2022-09-19) Greg “Basically Thermite” X: Crashed my HP Chromebook x360 so hard I had to use the power button to restart it. Uninstalled.
- (2019-09-28) Mr. Dreamfold: application error
- (2019-02-02) Thomas: Add Extension -> Start -> It Open a Window -> All white -> nothing happens. Deinstall On the Websites broken links to windows 8 (lol) app. Are You drunk ?
- (2018-08-22) Andy Gagnon: Please fix the Drive support. It's the main reason why I downloaded the app. I'll modify my review once fixed.
- (2018-08-21) Justin Williams: Even when I could get it to work it cut the bottoms off all the comics and the interface is clumsy and needs an overhaul.
- (2018-07-30) David Nunes: After a few days the app stopped working. " Application error An error occurred in the application and your page could not be served. If you are the application owner, check your logs for details. You can do this from the Heroku CLI with the command heroku logs --tail "
- (2018-04-30) Jack Macreedy: Works for only a short time, before it says application error, and after that reinstalling the app won't even help. Tried this on the second computer now. Also the bottom of the page is always missing. I only recommend the android app.
- (2018-01-27) Malik Grady: Holy crap, this app was down for a week or two and I saw just how bad all the other ones were. I used to grip about Astonishing Comic Reader but now realize it is gold compared to the dross alongside it.
- (2018-01-17) Jet Wong: This app doesn't seem to work anymore.
- (2017-12-20) Bailey Minshull: Now, I usually don't review things but I felt like this app deserved it. Out of all the other comic readers this is by far the best one, it has no advertisements, its super easy to zoom and scroll over a page and the design isn't distracting. 5 stars!
- (2017-12-01) Mark Ludwig Stinson: After looking at three of these "CBR" Apps, this was far and above the best one. No advertisements. Easy to zoom, so that you can scroll over a page and read a comic on a laptop screen. And the design is clean and non-distracting. There are two "touch" buttons on either side of the comic image that can also be clicked with a mouse for navigation. They only get in the way on splashpages, and really they are quite small. The app works with CBR and CBZ files. What more could you want?
- (2017-10-27) John Schraub: Won't open any of my locally stored CBR files. Needed to uninstall and look for something else.
- (2017-10-24) Dhruv Halwasiya: almost perfect. please add a zoom control slider or feature.
- (2017-07-27) Stéphane Poulin: work great... but how the hell can I disable the two rounds !? That is ugly and I don't need it...
- (2017-05-31) Pilar Flores: So far, really nice
- (2017-02-17) Harrison Frank: best cbz viewer on the market, and it cost nothing. plus can be used offline. top notch
- (2017-01-31) Dan Pritchett: Crashed on every issue I tried to open :/ Perhaps just my bad luck.
- (2017-01-03) Unable to open PDF comic.
- (2016-12-09) Elliot Amos: Wouldn't open my CBR files.
- (2016-12-04) Anandasubramanian CP: Can't properly scale
- (2016-11-23) Logan X: no full screen no chromcast ..
- (2016-11-02) No updates in over a year? Is it dead? This app is lacking a lot of features. It doesn't seem to be fully optimized for the Flip. I keep having to switch out of tablet mode just to turn a page. We also need a better library reader. The app should be able to detect where comic files are kept and show them in the library. Page numbering would also be nice. Maybe take a look at ComicRack and get some ideas. Implement that stuff and this could be a great app. Oh, and bookmarks as well.
- (2016-10-30) Syl: It works, but it's very clunky. The user interface needs a bunch of work. It's tolerable, but it's very awkward. The fit-to-page "fullscreen" mode bafflingly resizes vertically, too, so splash pages or any atypical size looks horrible. It also seems to cut off a small bit of the bottom of the page. There are also ever-present touch screen navigation buttons that obscure parts of the page. I'm not using a touch device, so I don't know if it's already there, but these should simply be a swipe motion. None of my cbz files work with it, so I presume they're simply unsupported. Additional files in the cbr seem to confuse the program. I saw a broken page in one of my archives, and it turned out to be a text file. Loading times are oddly long. It seems to be decompressing the entire book into memory before opening it. Most irritatingly, I've gotten randomly broken pages while reading. I don't know what's causing it, but I do know the archives I found them in had no problems in other readers, so it wasn't the file. Some of my larger files have caused the program to crash, too. This could be a good application, but it's not there yet.
- (2016-10-30) Antonio Virella Jr.: Doesn't ;pad any of my cbr files
- (2016-10-19) Michael Pendleton: It's nothing I want in a comic reader.
- (2016-09-28) Bruno Agostinho: Lack features, doesn't fit my screen, diskiked it at first.
- (2016-09-27) Dan Jones: Depends on the file extension to load files, so it must be named something.cbz or something.cbr. Sometimes, pages are badly out of order (starting on, e.g., page 7, and having pages 1-6 at the end).
- (2016-08-16) Justin Serda: It functions as a reader in its basic capacity. Not much else. Granted this is coming from a Chromebook user looking for an alternative to the widely superior ComicRack application. Zoom functionality and library access are the biggest caveats here. Small install size and relative ease of use are it's saving graces.
- (2016-08-05) George S.: Waste of time.
- (2016-08-02) Scott Robert Lawrence: Can't even zoom out far enough to read the comic.
- (2016-07-20) Jon Lawhead: Crashes constantly on Chromebook Pixel. Unusable.
- (2016-07-07) Ehn Gee: This app is pretty terrible in my opinion. I don't like the interface. You have the option to zoom in or out but the amount of zooming is very limited. This app doesn't always load the next page of the issue I'm reading; instead I'm met with just a blank screen. The drag and drop feature rarely works. I wish there were better options to read comics on Chromebook but I'm stuck with this app.
- (2016-06-26) Eric Wong: Doesn't work with cbr files in drive, which was the only reason I downloaded this app. Also doesn't work with large cbr files.
- (2016-06-16) Scott Barning: Works, but that's about the only praise that I can give it. Google Drive integration is broken. The fullscreen button just literally does not work. The only reason I'd recommend someone install this is if they are on a Chromebook and this is the only way they can read cbr/cbz files on it. Which was the reason I downloaded this despite all the negative reviews, which this app has thoroughly earned, in my opinion.
- (2016-06-09) Miguel Cayton: It loads the comic once then "forgets" that a comic was ever loaded after shutting the app down. Even if I add the comic back, it doesn't open it.
- (2016-05-30) acelaces fr: Very user-friendly and kept aspect-ratios on point. However, being able to work offline is a must.
- (2016-05-29) feathers z: Opens up fine. That's about all it does. Try to open a file and it loads... and loads.... and loads.................... Save yourself a few minutes and don't download this POS app. Tell your friends and family not to download this. It's as bad as a KFC "Double Down".
- (2016-05-26) Sam Reddinger: Unable to use .cbr files in Drive. This was this reader's only selling point to me. Too simple, full screen button does not work. Controls not intuitive. Does not create a library (have to load file every time I want to read something).
- (2016-05-26) Bret Rivard: Doesn't load anything, any comics I have work in all other readers. So for that I congratulate you.
- (2016-04-22) Som Harsh: damm its nice
- (2016-04-18) Michael Payton: Simple. I would love if the devs added mouse wheel support to scroll up and down the page and to the next page. I miss that feature the comic reader on my Windows laptop. Having a setting to go straight to screen width every page would be a great addition as well. I've found both features add to a more immersive reading experience.
- (2016-04-16) Pre Rejection: Could use a lot of improvement, definitely not a go to app for reading CBZ either
- (2016-04-14) Adam Tirado: It works fine, comics are easy to read, controls are simple, local import feature works fine. HOWEVER. The Google Drive Import feature doesnt work and causes the application to get stuck at a dead-end (no "Back" option). ALSO. There seems to be some sort of Censoring going on because I continually have pages not being displayed (in this app only, they work in Desktop and Mobile viewers). Please fix
- (2016-04-10) Justin M.: Not the best, not the worst. Works on Google drive, but file by file only. So it does the job!
- (2016-03-26) Harvey Drysdale: Just doesn't work. Wasn't able to import from Google Drive or drag and drop a comic from my ChromeBook.
- (2016-03-09) Dylan O'Hare: i like the layout but would really like better offline functionality on my Chromebook i have not been able to read from a sd card offline. and being able to edit the back and next buttons would be nice. actually it will not open at all offline but once it is open the comic stays readable offline
- (2016-02-14) SK SK: I installed it but nothing opens in it no matter what I tried. Might as well not be there. Rubbish.
- (2016-02-09) Nicolescu Ion Tismăneanu: I like how the Import from drive feature works so nicely, and that you are able to drag-drop multiple files. Of course I'm being sarcastic. This program sucks,.
- (2016-02-05) Jason Kwok: It's the current best one for chromebook. Yeah it could be better... but at least I can read comics!
- (2016-01-29) Dave Holsinger: Crashy, Google Drive integration returns errors.
