Description from store UPDATE: Chrome Apps are deprecated, but Obvibase is now a Progressive Web App, meaning that it works offline without you having to install it. Obvibase is also now available in Google Play store, and we welcome Chromebook and Android users to install it from there: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.obvibase.www.twa --- Obvibase is a distraction-free online database editor that you do not need to learn, but can just start using and benefiting from. It works on both desktop and mobile. There are a few things we miss in spreadsheets when we are working with data that has a structure to it. If, for instance, you want something as simple as a column of checkboxes, the best you can do is have a column in which you type 'Y' or 'N'. With Obvibase we have tried to build an app that makes use of the structure of your data but at the same time does not subtract from the ease-of-use of spreadsheets. - The edits you make are automatically saved in the cloud and synced across devices and users. - Checkboxes and other widgets, default values, live sorting/filtering, attached Drive/Dropbox files, and other features that improve the way we work with data tables. - Represent relationships between database tables by @-mentioning records in other records. - Continue editing data when you're offline, sync up your edits when back online. - If you need a database for your personal use, our forever-free Basic plan likely has you covered.

  • (2019-06-30) Trish Maybery: Useless. Set as default app in Google, still cannot open previously made database direct from Google Drive. Shared a database with another user and they are unable to open at all. Export option doesn't work either.
  • (2019-03-23) Stacy Y: Not sure why they call this a database... it's a single table. It fancies up a spreadsheet, that's all.
  • (2018-10-20) Adrienne Antonsen: This has been a lifesaver for data entry thanks to the nested tables and dropdown menus. It has saved me so much time not having to copy and paste identical info over and over for multiple entries with only on column's values changing. It's also been so great to have the dropdown menus to avoid typos and ensure consistency. The only major downside for me is the clumsy copy and pasting mechanism - while I do really like having the option to copy and paste a subset of each row, I wish there was more flexibility. For example, it would be really helpful to be able to drag down an entry to copy it on multiple rows like you are able to do in Excel. While nested tables typically help avoid needing to do this, every once and a while the need pops up and it's very tedious to have to paste every individual row. Also, I have had to deal several times with syncing errors that pop up and then losing what I have entered over the last minute or two - having to re-enter that data is irritating. Overall, this has been a HUGE help to me, much easier and more user-friendly for my data entry needs than Excel. Once it comes time to analyze the data, I'll be exporting the csv files and doing analysis in Excel. Just a few improvements and Obvibase would be the perfect data entry tool for huge datasets!
  • (2018-10-11) Joseph Coffman: I use Obvibase for keeping records on two businesses. I love that it's free and that it is backed up for me for free. I love that I can access it anywhere, anytime. I wish I knew more about how to use it through web applications.
  • (2018-09-28) It was okay
  • (2018-09-18) Andy Sandberg: FANTASTIC, I have been fighting with various database programmes trying to find something that would do even a halfway-functional job cataloguing my library. This is PERFECT and nothing else comes close. Literally the only thing I would wish improved is that you can't get thumbnails for Google Drive images, but that's not this app's fault, that's Google.
  • (2018-09-18) Cheryl Hill: I love it! Does exactly what it says it does, is simple to use and available anywhere. It's a great product that I've recommended to many people.
  • (2018-09-10) John Johnson: I was suprised to see a chrome DB with the functions and programing ability as this has. If you know DB's and are farmiliar with writing them then this is for you.

  • (2018-01-18) Pat Hoban: Very simple to use, no frills. Wish it worked better on mobile, but it hasn't cost me a dime, and has been crazy helpful.
  • (2018-01-14) Early Bird: Fantastic after trying to get my head around other Databases this is so simple quick and Concise yet really powerful,, spot on
  • (2018-01-11) Michel léger: Doesn't work on a chromebook HP 2017.No way to enter datas in columns so coudn't try it.
  • (2018-01-11) Multi Mayhem (MultiMayhem): Its too simple. Its pretty much just a spreadsheet that uses others methods of storage. They want $5 a month to allow others to edit files which as it stands is way too much. We need different themes, a real database that has storage, and so on. As it stands a spreadsheet could do the same thing as this. If features come in the future update I may end up paying for it.

  • (2016-12-21) Linda Lopiccola: I can't find a wizard to tell me how to use it.
  • (2016-12-05) Dianne Clark: Mostly good. A button to traverse records (i.e add previous record and next record arrows in form view) would be highly appreciated and breathe new life into this online resource.

  • (2016-01-28) Administrator Only: Great simple data base object
  • (2016-01-27) Fly Lemurs: sucks
  • (2016-01-27) carol abella: It serves its purpose of keeping a lot of data organised in a such a way that I am able to get a bird's eye view of everything. I like it better than using excel. I like the expand button and you can put comments and keeps track of the dates. It is very simple and I use it in conjunction with evernote
  • (2016-01-25) Labi Shrestha: Very simple and easy to use! Great tool for any engineer period.
  • (2016-01-20) Jonathan Pope: Works great. The Find feature is the best part.
  • (2016-01-19) Audio Xjj: great
  • (2016-01-12) Jill A: Some obvious things are missing such as formatting a field that has numbers to not be numbers (ie a phone number). Being able to tab between fields seems like something that should be rectified, it's very difficult to add a record without it.
  • (2016-01-11) Lior Caspi: Great database, was up in seconds and effective immediately. If you share photos on Google Drive you need to share the folder with the one you give read-only view to.
  • (2015-12-30) Tom Park: Exactly what I needed to get recipes organized. Not only can I sort them by type, I can attach a Google Doc with the recipe details where appropriate. Also very helpful is the ability to be able to use it across devices; since all Chrome devices share bookmarks, they all have access to it. A great app!
  • (2015-12-05) Stephen Wilcox: Simple, and easy to use. Will do the job. But it does take some major effort to load data with the import limit. I too thought the file was stored in the Google Drive, but it is not!
  • (2015-11-09) Donna Heleniak: Phone numbers cannot be recorded as....wait for it....: phone numbers. Only the area code appears. The only formatting options for numbers are: "Normal", "Percent", "Money" or "Scientific". All but 3 digits disappear or are displayed as 8,001,234,567. Very frustrating! I chose this database specifically to manage a membership list, including member contact info. If phone numbers cannot be recorded in this database, I have no use for it. Will change this rating if this issues gets resolved.
  • (2015-11-08) Dave Lara: I wish it had a tab to next field function. Sure help in entering a lot of records.
  • (2015-11-06) Nice!
