  • (2024-03-28) Bill Cook: I used to have the cloud reader on my Chromebook, and it mysteriously went away. Now the new version doesn't allow me to even read a book in my library. Can't begin to know how to fix it.
  • (2022-08-08) Stephanie Runyon: I specifically selected a book to be downloaded to my Kindle Cloud Reader. When I tried to open it, I was told to download the kindle app. I deleted the book and redownloaded it and same issue.
  • (2022-07-14) utpal bit: The books just keep loading and the pages don't appear Quite frustrating app
  • (2022-01-22) Tiff M: Trash. I hate how limiting this app is. The restrictions make it impossible to use any accessibility extensions that I typically use. Honestly, this app needs a revamp and should not be difficult to use.
  • (2021-12-04) Missy Vinson: I have been a Kindle customer for years, and have hundreds of books that I have bought. I have also been a Kindle Unlimited customer for years. I have used multiple iphones, laptops, and tablets with very little trouble. I have had my Chromebook for a week and a half and and I can say that I hate this cloud reader there isn't a way to go to a specific chapter, you can only go to the beginning of the book or put in a number location. I have closed the book, and when went back in it didn't go back to my page, it went to the end. I have had more issues in the last week and a half than I have in the last 4 years.
  • (2021-10-11) Des Turner: I use google chrome because I have a chromebook, but when I tried to open the kindle cloud reader, it said it didn't support my browser.
  • (2021-09-26) thph: From Amazon customer service: "This is not compatible with the Cloud reader." From Kindle Reader "We are sorry. Kindle Cloud Reader is not currently available on this browser. Update to the latest version of the Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox to read on web." I have a Chromebook. My reviews keep getting removed.
  • (2021-06-17) Kristi Wharton: I've been using Kindle Cloud Reader on a Dell Chromebook for years. Now it's saying it's not supported, to download Chrome browser. I'm using Chrome on a Chromebook...how much more 'Chrome' can you get? If I navigate to a purchased book through the Amazon site, it will sometimes load but no previous highlights or notes show up & it won't sync so I can continue reading on another device. Very frustrating!!
  • (2021-03-28) Fred Turner: Can no longer download (pin) books to my chromebook for offline reading
  • (2021-01-20) Fixit Mann: Last updated in 2014. That's forever in computer talk. And if you're using it on a Chromebook? Forget it. Try using your browser with something like the "ebook offline reader" or the "epub reader" enabled from the web store in it, instead of this one. If you're NOT on a Chromebook, how about using Calibre? You can also install the Linux version on a Chromebook... if you know how to run your Chromebook as a Linux box. If you're on Windows or Linux, though, definitely Calibre and its associated reader.
  • (2020-12-21) Anh Tài Lê: "Your current book is automatically made available for offline use, and you can choose to save a book for reading offline at any time". This feature doesn't work anymore.
  • (2020-12-01) Travis Ravert: Can't click TOC links, that's a joke in 2020. Total garbage and the last time I buy a technical book through Amazon. I need to be able to search quickly, which is trivial in 2020 for a book. Why would you not implement this?
  • (2020-11-17) Kevin Lao: I think they dropped support for this app. Looking at it, it keeps hitting 404s when trying to get your books.
  • (2020-10-12) Ruben Gutierrez (Ruchiyoto): Great tool that allows me to read my collection when I'm away from my Fire Kindle HD 7, I love using this product and hope that more features to come.
  • (2020-10-07) Gabriel Ertsgaard: It doesn't do what I need and I can't figure out how to uninstall it.
  • (2020-09-13) Sam Hardy: I tried to read a comic on this app and it is difficult to believe how bad the interface design was. I have nearly no ability to zoom in and if I do manage it I lose the ability to properly navigate. Reading a pirated version gives a much better experience.
  • (2020-08-26) Alan Hughes: I always used the Kindle web app, it was much cleaner than the wonky Mac app, but the abruptly removed offline support making it completely worthless. And to add insult to injury they still falsely list this as working offline.
  • (2020-07-11) Way of Swans: wow. i can't believe you removed the offline download option for books. thanks for wasting my money, it's like i dont even own the books i purchased.
  • (2020-06-26) Bria Sativa Aguayo: It barely works. I've had it for a couple of years and have gotten it to work occasionally. Mostly it just loads and loads. I've tried it on multiple networks and have latest Chrome update. Very disappointing.
  • (2020-04-07) Konstantin Meyer: This "app" is hardly supported these days. The oflline mode doesn't work anymore and needs to be ported to newer standards. Please fix it...
  • (2020-03-31) Adi: horrible app horrible
  • (2020-03-25) Sonja: No longer works after Chromebook update Version 80.0.3987.158.Books won't even open.
  • (2020-03-20) Chris Jimenez: the one book i needed for school i cannot open. says i need the kindle app but all i can download is this. No help.
  • (2020-03-17) google lovebugs3: Inconsistent. There are several books that can be read in this app just fine. The Mojave Tribe consistently failed to be read on the Chromebook and read fine on my Fire Tablet.
  • (2020-02-11) Lu Gibson: it sucked my books wouldn't load and i lost some money because of it
  • (2020-01-13) Anyssa Christensen: I only have my chromebook as a way to access what I need for school. Rented an e-textbook through Amazon and had no way of knowing that this application is not compatible before I did so. Now I have a $30 ebook that I can not even access! Would have been nice to have some sort of disclaimer or warning beforehand, I did not even know that it was incompatible until after my textbook was already added to my library and tried to open it.
  • (2020-01-04) Victor Garza: launched apps sound cloud no jumping the cloud
  • (2019-12-02) Rich C: A very poor version of a Kindle reader. I have my school textbooks on kindle, and this cloud reader lacks all the options that the standard kindle app has. writing notes is infuriating due to the fact you can't move the text box. There is no Citation options, and you can't copy anything any texts. I only been using it for a short time, so I can't wait to find out what else this app lacks. Not satisfied at all.
  • (2019-11-15) Joseph Torres (Avigor): What I'm trying to figure out is why this keeps getting disabled with Chrome reporting "This extension violates the Chrome Web Store policy." but no proper explanation, plus you can't seem to find it through the store search only via a google search...
  • (2019-10-26) Uli Bubenheimer: Images are impossible to decipher
  • (2019-09-21) Kim Rostad: The lack of ease of how to copy selected text is a glaring negative for the Chrome version of kindle. Copying and pasting quotes is essential for research and paper-writing.
  • (2019-09-20) Elliot Marshall: Fine app for downloading and streaming my ebooks.
  • (2019-09-11) Carol Hoag: doesn't work
  • (2019-05-17) Joscelin Fromviller (Jopurple12): Does not work. It says I have no books, when my app on my phone shows tons of books.
  • (2019-03-22) Eric: It opens the app just fine but when i go to open a book on my chromebook it says error. This has been going on for 5 months. I JUST WANT TO READ A BOOK ON MY CHROMEBOOK DAMNIT!
  • (2019-02-13) it was a totall waste of time
  • (2019-02-05) Miles Bader: Does not seem to work properly. It shows the Kindle "bookshelf" properly, but clicking on any book to read it just says (paraphrased) "Could not open this book in the reader, send to your Kindle?" I'm using a very up-to-date version of Chrome (72), and the Cloud Reader claims to have supported Chrome since version 20, so I don't think it's a problem with my browser. So... basically useless.
  • (2019-01-23) DOES NOT WORK FOR COLLEGE TEXTBOOKS
  • (2018-12-31) N Odell: It doesn't seem to have any controls. Once the Chromebook starts to read the book on Audible, I can't stop it from reading. Very frustrating. Other than that, it sounds great and turns the pages when necessary to keep up with the reading.
  • (2018-12-21) Lee Miles: I can get it to launch with Firefox but it never loads using Chrome. Have disabled ad blockers and still nothing. Doesn't appear as though I'm the only one having the issue either...
  • (2018-12-11) Dominique Kuster: The good thing is that you can read your books on any computer without having to install any apps. The bad thing is that you don't get any advantage from being on a computer. Some times I want to translate a sentence or copy/paste a reference. This is just not possible and it is ridiculous. The chrome app also has a nasty problems with links that call the dictionary instead and make internal navigation impossible.
  • (2018-12-01) Bill DeStein: I'm using the Kindle Cloud Reader for Chrome on my Mac. The book-shaped drop-down has a "table of contents" link that is always grayed-out. It's annoying that I have to go the the front of the book and page down to the table of contents. More annoying is this. I can create bookmarks and notes. But when I click on the "show notes and marks icon", I see an empty black page with a "close" button. Does anyone have answers for these two issues?
  • (2018-11-14) Paul E: bought a Kindle book but book won't open in cloud reader. cloud reader suggested trying the android or iPhone app. pretty useless.
  • (2018-11-12) I can't read my math textbook on my Chromebook, which sucks because I'd rather not have to look at it on my tiny phone screen or have to be at my PC (which isn't portable).
  • (2018-11-08) Maureen Kasischke: I am having trouble getting some books on my iphone. I don't see a number or an email for technical help. Very frustrating. Also it appears I have to pay $9.99 per month AND buy the books I want to read. I understood if you have Amazon Prime you would be able to read the books for free? Very confusing. One book will only show me the preview and I cannot seem to get past it on my iphone to actually READ the book. Please tell me where I might find technical support
  • (2018-09-25) Ursula Lenori: i don't know whats going on with it , it will not load at all so i don't see the content.
  • (2018-09-17) Tay Bronson: wont let me open my book
  • (2018-09-03) Victor H: Works only with kindle-amazon books. Does not work at all with other ebooks you have on your disk or cloud. You will need another app for that :-(
  • (2018-08-27) Neil Vincent (Eagle101): Not bad, using it from Chrome for Linux and all my books are there, and the text is easier on the eyes. More functions for easy navigation within books will be useful addition for future. Thanks.
  • (2018-08-10) Deepa Singh: wow
