  • (2024-12-26) Charlie Calhoun: When I first reviewed this in 2019 I gave it 4 stars (See prior review below:). However, It has not been updated in years, throws security warnings from lack of current https support, and really doesn't function very well anymore when trying to add podcasts. It really should be removed from the store by Google, as it could be a security threat. Too bad, as it once was my go to app. Review from 2019 (4Stars): "I use it to download podcasts to a small mp3 player. I download about 3 times a week, and let Cloud Caster keep all the feeds current. Like others have said, it is slow, but does what I need it to do on my Chromebook."
  • (2022-03-02) John Voigt: Search finds podcast but fails with TLS errors on most podcasts. Uninstalled from my chrome tablet because it sux
  • (2021-08-24) Matthew Howell: This service seems to be dead. The feedback page has been deleted. The support page has been deleted. I routinely receive Server errors when trying to add podcasts. Please remove this extension from the Store.
  • (2021-01-20) August Vorsterman van Oijen: Error loading any podcast in Brave browser
  • (2019-07-09) Julie Webb: slooooooooow
  • (2018-04-29) Gary Volk: It is horrible on Android. No full screen option on video. Seems to work OK on Chromebook.
  • (2017-09-06) Robert Weissfeld: Doesn't do what it says it will do. Shows the same episode, and only the latest episode 7 times in the list and then in the detail view which lets you see all podcasts for that feed, there is only the date, not the decription. Also doesn't automatically create a book mark to go back to where you were.
  • (2017-02-28) Cigars & Whiskey: Not user friendly another cheap quick extension.
  • (2016-07-30) Mads Jørgensen: Not user friendly --- and interface not so eye candy
  • (2015-09-13) John H: without useful documentation a product is useless.
  • (2015-06-22) Luis Austin: Simple to use and effective
  • (2015-04-07) M TS: only highly rated due to lack of competition.
  • (2015-02-23) Erik Nelson: Underwhelming. Incredibly slow with a non-intuitive UI. Like the idea of having a cloud-based podcast-client, but it needs to be better than Cloudcaster. Sadly, it's indicative of the utter lack of podcast-services on the Chromebook that this is in the upper-echelon.
  • (2015-01-30) It's not an "app", just a website. In some ways that's nice because it'll work from any device and episodes are synced (by virtue of existing online only). However, performance is very slow, and many of my podcasts don't play in Cloud Caster (no error message, they just don't play). Also, there's no offline mode. Would give it 5 stars if it synced with an Android app (listen to most of my podcasts on my phone) and also they fix the performance issues where episodes won't play.
  • (2014-11-19) Keith Pickard: Just started using today and it had my favourite podcasts available, so thumbs up from me.
  • (2014-09-03) Charles Middleton: Nice way to centralise all those podcasts we all listen to... I use PocketCasts in the car, but until that syncs with desktop / online client, Cloudcaster will do online. Unfortunately, doesnt sync with Pocketcasts. Although this is pitched as an "extension" for Chrome, I cant actually find any browser integration? Just seems to open the web page as a, er, web page. Would like it if it could run as an extension (i.e not need a web page tab), and offer transport control right inside chrome. Also, would prefer if it allowed you to log in with Google creds, and sync through that. Tad dissapointing (it's NOT AN EXTENSION) , but it'll do till I find something better...
  • (2014-07-15) Phil Thomas: The cross platform approach is nice (esp since I'm on an HP Chromebook), but not being able to automatically just setup a playlist (like play all of a podcast series) is a deal breaker. Maybe this is possible, but I didn't want to spend a half hour figuring our how..
  • (2014-06-15) Carlos P. Kizzee: Comparable to Beyond Pod on Android and to Itunes podcast. Excellent because it allows me to go from android, to workplace pc, to IPhone, to personal laptop without missing a beat on the podcast that I am either watching or listening to. Awesome! Only needs flexibility to set up a recurring playlist (like Beyond Pod) to get 5 stars.
  • (2014-03-11) Joe Chan: Runs great on my HP Chromebook.
