  • (2021-11-24) Max Knutson: Doesn't Work. Using ChromeOS on a HP 14a 0022od chromebook. Refuses to connect. Tried my HTTP server AND FTP server. Neither worked. Tried those same servers in my web browser and connects immediately.
  • (2021-10-31) Klaus Forster (Vitality4Happiness): cannot connect ftp on CloudReady with this app
  • (2021-08-14) Sean Chomba: Seems credible first hand. We'll see as time goes on.
  • (2021-01-24) D AB: OK for normal folders, but doesn't work at all for any symbolic links on the remote folder.
  • (2021-01-13) SMG3: Please help me, im trying to connect my 2DS(homebrew) on CloudReady, This happend on my 2DS : 220 Hello ! SHH-2.0-libssh2_1.4.3 Invalid Command PLEASE HELP ME I WANT MY Mario Kart 7 MOD!
  • (2020-09-18) Liam Riley: I have used this app for a while now and it has worked fine, but lately it has started to freeze and I now get system notifications every couple of minutes telling me this.
  • (2020-08-13) Scott Brim: Apparently it does not support modern key exchange methods. See https://github.com/tjibbevanderlaan/chromeos-filesystem-sftp/issues/131 and http://www.openssh.com/legacy.html
  • (2020-07-16) Zach Johnson: Excellent app, super easy to use, and it'll mount a folder that persists through reboots, first one I've found that'll do that.
  • (2020-04-12) Kim Kongsted: Why is it so slow? 600 mb took like 10 min to transfer with a 200 mbit connection :-(
  • (2020-01-28) Hendrikus Postma: I already try this application for years, but it doesnt let me connect to my hosting at bluehost, again I tried to sole it with the bluehost helpdesk but what we tried, nothing works, now it tells "Attempt has timed out, check your internet connection" but I am sure thats not the problem.... Strangely FTP (Mount file share" on my chromebook doesn't work either... "Share Path is incorrectly formatted" maybe others have some stuning solutions who work....
  • (2020-01-25) Skipper Martin: Doesn't work at all... Either no connection to sftp server or "time out".
  • (2019-11-18) Emmelia Talarico: It times out constantly. It slows down the main file folder when timing out to the point you have to keep aborting chrome processes in order for the main file folder to render results. It randomly will refuse to connect and each time you try to close the attached drive it stays there and keeps sending chrome errors.
  • (2019-11-12) Will C: Works as advertised so I can easily copy files from an sftp file to my chromebook.
  • (2019-11-06) Jens Bröcher: Perfect! Google should include this as default!
  • (2019-09-27) John Blackledge: "Connecting failed: -1 111" Which tells us exactly what? 7F-All!
  • (2019-09-01) SeeFore Vicious: As others have pointed out it won't connect to anything. Times out after a few seconds or throws an error in spite of correct info entered. Connect fine with filezilla and winscp on my mac and pc, respectively.
  • (2019-06-14) Dylan Cantrell: Does not work
  • (2019-05-22) Cormac Bracken: A few "minor" bugs, like not saving credentials, make this app completely unusable.
  • (2019-04-05) Ard van Breemen: No IPv6 support in any way. I can't comment this without rating it. https://github.com/tjibbevanderlaan/chromeos-filesystem-sftp fixes low rating though...
  • (2019-01-24) A A: I can copy files from the server but not to the server. Seems to connect to the server fine tho, but I hope they add the feature to copy to the server eventually.
  • (2019-01-04) David Cain: Won't connect with ed25519 type keys.
  • (2019-01-02) Violin Wang: It works well on my chrome book! And I successfully connected to my Aliyun server! Thanks to the developers!
  • (2018-12-14) Ron Wright: Couldn't get it to delete a folder. Timed out.
  • (2018-10-22) Michael O'Leary: It times-out after a few minutes every time, sometimes sooner; it is impossible to move large files and difficult to move lots of small files. Once the connection times out, some files are damaged or fail to transfer.
  • (2018-10-18) Jeff Hobbs: This works great, thanks very much! A key addition to any ChromeOS users' toolkit.
  • (2018-09-07) James Weber: Thank you!!!!! I tried so two other extensions/apps and either I could not store my credentials, the connection was slow, did not mount into Chrome Files etc... This was the answer to getting easy access back to the local network attached drive from my chromebook
  • (2018-09-03) Bob C: Always timed out after 5-10 secs. Verified my WiFi was working by using codeanywhere's FTP client.
  • (2018-08-28) Sterling Blevins: Seems to work okay for me!
  • (2018-08-26) Richard Pickett: Constantly times out. Once a connection goes dead you have to disconnect it and reconnect *HOWEVER* the app won't remember the private key, so you always have to go through many steps to make something happen that should be automated. If the connection goes dead, the app should just reconnect, or allow for a "reconnect" in the rt-click menu on the folder.
  • (2018-08-08) Andre Jarrell: Works exactly as it should.
  • (2018-06-13) Ivan Ruiz: Connection time out, won't connect despite putting correct info
  • (2018-05-03) Forrest Rhoads: Works just fine with CloudReady, which I moved to from Chrome OS because my old Acer C710 is no longer supported by Chrome OS. I can mount my entire set of 9 networked drives and access them with SFTP File System
  • (2018-04-27) Broken, can't establish a connection. "Nacl module crashed". "Failed to init SFTP session -25 11"
  • (2018-04-23) Ethan J: Works perfectly. Caret is a great addition and works great with it to. Straight to the point (:
  • (2018-04-07) Rolf Paloheimo: Works perfectly. Would like to be able to label the connections. Otherwise perfect, lightweight, logical and fast.
  • (2018-01-06) Konstantin Meyer: Works great for editing remote files. UI has been fixed, which is also great!
  • (2017-11-30) Rafael Ontivero: Does not work. It disconnects randomly and is not able to copy from Chromebook to SFTP server any file. It works better copyng from SFTP to Chromebook but is not reliable enough.
  • (2017-11-24) Rui Batista: Doesnt work ... it doesnt even launch
  • (2017-10-17) Paul Smyth: Garbage. Can't even recognise a standard private key file that works perfectly elsewhere
  • (2017-08-25) Janne Sjöberg: Worked as expected
  • (2017-08-03) Remi van Beekum: Worked fine for a couple of months, but since recently it just won't connect to anything.
  • (2017-07-08) Timothy Miller: GitHub project appears to be abandoned.
  • (2017-06-12) Angel Nuñez Valle: Really bad app. I does not work!!
  • (2017-04-03) Patrick Thomas: can't initialize SFTP connection.
  • (2017-02-26) David B: On ASUS C302ca I just get the error: hostent NULL 0 0
  • (2017-02-20) Corvin Russell: Does what it says and works fine for me. Not sure what all the complaints are about.
  • (2017-01-28) Lothar Li: I like the file system that appears in the Chromebook's file dialog. But the authentification is too limited (I tested with two different Linux and one FreeBSD server): Only user+password and privateKey without passphrase work (or I guess privateKey with passphrase stored in the password field). More secure connection settings with interactive prompting for password or passphrase does not work. Leave the password blank does not work, neither the keyboard-interactive (whatever that is). In my setting if feel to unsave having the password or passphrase stored in the Chromebook somewhere.
  • (2017-01-26) Brandon Stolz: Does exactly what it should; looks good and feels good. However, it can be a little slow.
  • (2017-01-03) E. Frank Ball: can't get it to work at all. Some directions would be nice. How do I specify the path to an ssh key? /Downloads/ssh/id_rsa ? ssh/id_rsa ? nothing works. On server that allows passwords the app just hangs at login.
