Downloading this web extension will automate daily speed tests throughout the remainder of the challenge window.
Your participation plays a crucial role in the Merit BEAD Mapping Challenge in Michigan, contributing to the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program – a federal initiative aimed at enhancing high-speed internet access through planning, infrastructure deployment, and adoption programs.
Key Features:
The background Speed Test : operates silently in the background, conducting daily speed tests automatically, without requiring user interaction. Tests measure upload and download speeds, latency, test server information, and the user's Internet Provider IP address.
Scheduled Testing:
Weekdays: Speed tests scheduled between 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Weekends: Speed tests scheduled between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Popup Notification:
A popup dialog will appear when the speed test is running, providing information about the ongoing update.
Users have the option to delay the speed test by closing the popup window. The delay duration is determined automatically by the system.
Delayed Speed Tests:
Users can postpone the speed test for a specified duration, offering flexibility and convenience.
The popup window will reappear once the delay time concludes, prompting users about the upcoming speed test.
Important Notes:
This extension ensures user privacy and requires no manual intervention, with the flexibility to delay speed tests.
By participating in the BEAD Program, users actively contribute to the improvement of internet accessibility in underserved areas.
