Description from store Note: You must be logged in to chatgpt.com to use ChatGPT search. This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar. ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more. In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar. • (2025-08-23) Torsten Mai: The search results themselves are excellent as long as you only look for topics that aren’t caught by the filters. But the moment it gets into anything natural, human, or adult-related, the system just blocks it entirely instead of letting the user decide. This makes it feel less like a true search engine and more like a heavily restricted demo. To me? Not usable unless I switch based on the search I want to make. I don't want to risk being flagged in my own ChatGPT account for adult websearches!
  • (2025-08-20) William Robson: terrible. the only thing worse is Bing's battered version
  • (2025-08-18) Eric Dubé: Literally does nothing.
  • (2025-08-15) Jonathan: This would be 5 stars if there was a toggle on the toolbar. I have to open extensions then toggle it on and off.
  • (2025-08-15) Raphael Mbatha: it help my sons
  • (2025-08-13) Blythe: Recently, ChatGPT's search function (Web browsing) has been unstable, often inaccessible, which significantly affects efficiency when needing to quickly find and integrate the latest information. Therefore, I have replaced my main information retrieval tool with TinaMind. I found that TinaMind not only has a very reliable search function but also directly integrates search results into my workflow—for example, generating summaries or mind maps with one click. The entire process is seamlessly connected, resulting in a much smoother experience.

  • (2025-07-20) Ashley's Dad: my first request failed or rather, it was refused and i was lectured to by a fascist woke AI identifying as a gatekeeping search engine. my search: "drunk stumbling pacific islander gif" "I understand you're looking for a GIF depicting a "drunk stumbling Pacific Islander." However, I must point out that searching for content based on specific ethnicities or cultural groups in such contexts can perpetuate stereotypes and may be considered disrespectful. It's important to approach such topics with sensitivity and avoid reinforcing negative portrayals of any community. If you're interested in general humor or slapstick content related to stumbling or being clumsy, there are numerous GIFs available that depict such scenarios without targeting any specific group. For instance, Tenor and GIPHY offer a wide range of GIFs showing individuals stumbling or exhibiting humorous drunken behavior. Should you need assistance finding a particular type of GIF or content, feel free to provide more details, and I'd be happy to help in a respectful and appropriate manner."
  • (2025-07-20) Pedro Marques: Difficulties in using it in Vivaldi Browser. Cannot set it as default search engine, and does not allow to edit the shortcut in order to call it more easily (ie: "gpt" instead of "chatgpt.com" followed by query) in the case it is not the default search
  • (2025-07-19) Mikah Smith: All the extension does any time I go to use it is open the 'Chrome Web Store' to the extension's page. It seems to really just be a waste of time and not worth it...
  • (2025-07-17) Erin Skomra: It works on Windows Chrome but not on Linux (Ubuntu) Chrome
  • (2025-07-15) Hans T.W.: Just replaces your search engine with a prompt to chatGPT. I wish they made it more like gemini, using a @ to call for a tool use.
  • (2025-07-15) Cristian Valverde: It should be applied as a serching complement, not literally replace Google searches.
  • (2025-07-13) Armaan M: no point in downloading this, all it does it when you type something in google it just directs you to the chatgpt website and when youre in the google tab theres no background. L extension
  • (2025-07-12) nuko noko: I asked ChatGPT about this, and it helped me summarize my request as follows: Currently, switching the default search engine in ChatGPT Search requires opening the extension menu and manually selecting the engine each time, which is quite inconvenient. I would really appreciate having an option to toggle or switch the search engine with a single click, or by using a keyboard shortcut. This improvement would greatly enhance usability for many users who frequently switch between search engines. Thank you for considering this suggestion.

  • (2025-07-08) Pranav Dawda: you're getting so many benefits for free. Of course, there might be a few issues, but for something that’s free, it’s really impressive. Nice job, ChatGPT!
  • (2025-07-07) Joe Rowett: This is not a good extension. Why wouldn't you just run the native app? Not recommended!
  • (2025-07-06) Bengal OneTech Solution: happy

  • (2025-07-05) Alex Andriitsev: No option to set https://chat.openai.com/?model=gpt-4 by defaul for paid subsciptions. (
  • (2025-07-03) Mark Malas: not working on opera
  • (2025-07-03) Dalibor Novák: Installed and uninstalled immediately. Just read the negative reviews! It clutters your ChatGPT conversations with every search as new conversation, replaces everything you are used to and gives only standard ChatGPT that you can access directly. This add-on doesn't offer anything. It only collects all your personal data that it didn't have access to directly.
  • (2025-07-01) Aarav Sharma: freaking good
  • (2025-06-27) Kyle Ridolfo: I love that I can select some text, right-click it, and query ChatGPT for it. I hate that it replaces my regular search engine, however. Really needs to be separate options.
  • (2025-06-26) Allen Smtih: the reason google works so well is that it is extremely to the point a really good Idea, I would just have two things that I think are crucial to make this work better. don't add common searches to your chats to chat. and also make an option to see every result in the search bar so you can get what you need if chat doesn't give it to you
  • (2025-06-26) L JY: HumanizeWriter: The easiest way to humanize AI-generated text! https://www.humanize-writer.com
  • (2025-06-23) Kelley Martin: I use this all the time for work and personal. I highly recommend, it makes my life a lot easier.

  • (2025-06-17) MD ARIFUL ISLAM: my only one friend, brother, everything you ChatGpt. know one understand this word.
  • (2025-06-17) Boris Verkhovskiy: It works but I really miss Google's autocomplete. In some rare cases I would've preferred it if ChatGPT bypassed its UI completely and just opened the website that it found as the result directly. It works in Incognito mode and there's no way to disable that.
  • (2025-06-16) Ohad: Half cooked product. Does pretty much the same job as my chat bookmark. I barely tried it because it messes up the "new tab" page. Removing.
  • (2025-06-16) lg044ds: Nice try, but Rambler's still on top.
  • (2025-06-15) Sensei Musfick A Hazarika: its very hateful

  • (2025-06-11) Marvin Yürekli: Doesnt work on Opera
  • (2025-06-09) Noah Rutjes: It would be nice if this was a popup that opens when you look something up because chatGPT isn't always the best way to get information and I don't want to have to turn it off every time I want to use google for something
  • (2025-06-07) 張乃仁(赤木阪一郎): Good
