- (2021-03-22) Evan Meier: RPG MO is literally my favorite game. Seems like an appropriate statement to start this off. I have played for only a year and a half but i barely miss a day! And even if im not in the mood to actually play or do anything i just like to get on and chat with everyone! We are a small community but were a very inviting and friendly community! I've heard alot of complaints about the MO and its not for everyone, but please dont let that discourage you from giving it a shot. The game is constantly being updated and new content is added all the time. The devs listen to our complaints in the forums and work on things, and the rules are very clearly stated on the website. Mods dont just go muting and kicking people for no reason, they all happily explain what you did wrong no harm no foul! As for the economics aspect, it is true that the player market is wildly off from the "wiki" price or in game set value, but there are valid reasons for the price deviations, and it does take a little time to get to know the ins and outs of it, just like any other game with a player market. But theres people here who can craft your gear and weapons and stuff you want and will work with you, maybe you set up a payment plan for your high level pet you need but cant afford. So you pay a little a time while the guy trys to craft it for you, or you need high level gear but cant afford or craft it, someone else can and will if you just get the materials. My point is that you should come and judge us for yourself. Reviews help but shouldn't cement any idea. I hope if any of you read this, and go "hmmm ok, ill try it out for myself" that you do just that, and while your doing tutorial island you get in chat and say hey to me and everyone else on. :)
- (2020-03-28) Gabriel Matthews: The BEST game in history!
- (2019-11-07) Nayte: Love this Game SM.
- (2018-08-16) galaxydork: the game is community driven, they pour lots of love into everything they do. micr transactions speed up the early game, after about a month of play mos should be both 1: something you can acquire regularly and 2: simply for novelty or lazyness. the game has 3 primary builds for combat, each has 2 subs and sometimes they overlap. (only melee and magic an overlap properly, archery can not be used at the same time as magic or melee in any way) the economy is rather inflated at the moment I am typing this up, but it goes up and down all of the time, there is a economy update ment to fix the issues with inflation. and as for player griefing, there are only really two ways- pvp (witch is located in a single map) and market control. (If a high level player feels so inclined, they can buy every item on the market of one kind and change its price, whether that be so it's cheaper for them in the future, or so they can turn a massive profit THIS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED)
- (2017-10-26) RooSalad: COMMUNITY ATTITUDE: 8/10 | Fairly pleasant community to be a part of. GAME BALANCE: 5/10 | There is very obviously an optimal build to go with. If you don't use this build, you're shooting yourself in the foot. GAME ECONOMY: 2/10 | Completely destroyed by TINY playerbase of ultra rich players. FAIRNESS: 4/10 | Purchasing MOS (premium currency) is cheap, and will give you a several hundred hour advantage. If you spend $10 in this game, you are automatically several hundred hours ahead of someone who is grinding "fair" way. ACCESSIBLE TO NEW PLAYERS: 6/10 | Extremely accessible if you pay real life money. If you do not want to spend money in the game, prepare for a several-hundred hour grind to get past the early-mid game wall. The game is still playable if you do not spend your money, however you are at an absolutely massive disadvantage to anyone who's spent only $10. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: - THE DEVELOPERS ARE GIVING PREMIUM CURRNECY TO PLAYERS FOR LEAVING THEM GOOD REVIEWS ON STEAM. THEY ARE PAYING PEOPLE FOR GOOD REVIEWS. https://forums.mo.ee/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3870 | https://i.imgur.com/uUWwM4Z.png - This game compares itself to Runescape (read it's description), however even attempting to mention Runescape in the game's public/general chat will earn you warnings and mutes from the player-moderators for being "off-topic". - This game has very unclear and shady/vague "rules". For example, it's against the rules to sell something for too high of a price, or to buy something for too low of a price. They consider this scamming- however there are no saftey-nets in place to prevent this. - The player moderators actually do show serious favoritism. I didn't believe this when reading some of the reviews, but now that I've put time into the game, I can confirm that it's true. - There is an extremely small playerbase, and about 70-80% of current players are nearly maxed accounts, and have absolute control over the prices of items. This is a HUGE problem seeing as MOST of the playerbase has untouchable wealth. - How dare the developers relate this game to the nostalgic feeling of original Runescape Classic. They should know better. The original Runescape Classic's development team were very against micro-transactions. Andrew Gower never gave in to placing a money shop in RSC, even with it's massive popularity, playerbase, and addictiveness. What a slap in the face to the real, true, RSC veterans.
- (2017-09-27) Wyrmlight: Literally a low quality rip off of Runescape full of bad English.
- (2017-08-19) Dalton Sutter: Rpg Mo has an amazing community of players alongside moderators who are there 24/7 to answer Any questions you may have. Overall gameplay is addictive. If you are familiar with other free-to-play mmorpgs, imagine playing RS on a huge Dofus map, with Hundreds of creatures from small rats to sapphire dragons. Skill system on point with dozens to choose from, so you can be sure to build a character play style you love. WARNING: This game requires a lot of grinding, DO NOT expect to start playing and get rich and/or powerful without putting it the WORK! p.s. Say hi sometime, im known only as -CyinTheCloak
- (2017-07-05) Nytfalz: Hey all, Love this game! Been looking for a game that I could get both my girlfriend and my children into that would be slow paced enough to teach and fast paced enough for myself to enjoy. Don't let the graphics fool you, it is quite the addictive game with tons of options for doing a wide variety of skills/trades/professions. You can be a warrior, mage, farmer, blacksmith, archer, etc... It can be quite the grind once you get up in levels but it works for this game and the community overall is great, willing to help new players and very active all hours. My only complaint is that some of the mechanics behind the game seem counter-productive but understandable after some serious game chat and a better understanding of limitations.
- (2017-07-03) Wayne Duerkes: I recommend this game to anyone with a nerve of steel, and that loves to mine tin for 10 hours. With all honesty I love this game so much. When I first join I was confused even after the tutorial but there were so many good people willing to help me out. Please play this game and spread the word for this amazing game to gain players!
- (2017-06-29) Vince Gambill: This is a large MMORPG with an isometric tileset, which was very popular in the 90's. It can be played from almost anywhere: client, website, Mac, PC, Linux, Android, iOS, etc. It's a small install (if you use a client), and it uses hardly any system resources. The game is a freemium game, but it is not cursed with a Pay To Win culture. MOS is a currency that you can buy with real money or earn in-game and spend on special items, extra bank spaces, Market spaces, etc. The world is split into areas named after Estonian towns: You start in Tutorial Island, but then truly begin in Dorpat. From there, you can travel via jump points or teleport scrolls & potions to other maps like Reval, Rakblood, Whiland, Walco, etc. Additionally, there are varying dungeons and towers, No Man's Land is a dangeous PVP area, Arena is a tournament/Dual Arena mashup that allows betting, etc. The world is big! Skills correspond well to Runescape, with significant improvements. Combat skills (Accuracy, Strength, Defense, Hit Points, Health, Magic, Archery) Gathering skills (Farming, Woodcutting, Fishing, etc) Artisanal skills (Jewelry, Fletching, Cooking, Forging, Breeding (pet creation) Combat: Melee combat is a lot like RS07, able to use controlled, aggressive, etc Ranged combat keeps your opponents from hitting you at all. Magic is based off of scrolls and pouches. You can dual-wield a 1h weapon and magic like Skyrim for high DPS. 2x Exp is a potion that you can buy or is provided for top-level donators. When triggered, the entire world gets 2x xp for a period of time. So, most people use gatherer skills during 1x and artisanal skills during 2x. Party Quests are groups of up to 4 people who go on one of two timed missions: -Kill a set number of monsters in a set time period -Wade through monsters, find 3 keys, and open a large chest. Not only do you get the drops, but if you complete the mission, you get extra stuff like MOS or coins. There are skill quests and group quests, but there is no lore in the game. Skill quests are offered by Skill Masters in groups of 10 that refresh every hour. The more you do ,the better they get. Rewards vary from coins, items, MOS, or experience. Combat quests are linear, auto-assigned upon finishing one, and become harder and longer as you progress. Same rewards as above. You can purchase a personal island. There, you can build a house, bed, furniture, a ship to travel to other player-owned islands, decorations, etc. However, most use them for Farming, Breeding, and Fletching. The economy is well-designed. Most basic and low-level items can be bought and sold directly with NPCs stationed in most towns. All else can be bought and sold to/from other players via the Market, a place to list items at whatever price you choose. Surprisingly, there is little price manipulation. You bank and access the Market at chests. You start with 60 chest spaces. Extras come in packs of 60 and costs 500k or I think 50 MOS. Unlike some other games, the Chest places your items in a predictable location and also has sorting tools to make it easy to find items. The anti-botting system is brilliant. It uses Google CAPTCHA checks. If you pass, you get a point that gives extra exp in the skill of your choice. If you fail, you lose a point. Hit -5 and you get thrown in jail until a GM or developer (think JMOD) can talk to you and decide your fate. The greatest thing about this game is the community. People are incredibly helpful, everyone is friendly, rude people get shut down quickly in main chat. Developers stop into the main chat often to check in. Margus, the guy who made the game, pops into main chat and talks with everyone. In short, this game has been a massive surprise, and I plan to play it for quite some time.
- (2017-05-20) ארטיום פוקרישקין: Very good game! Nice team! good community! best time of rpg mo! A nice grinding game,it have a nice community, antibot system, unlimited lvling and well as lots of skills to lvl up. There’s so much to do in this game. I think it’s amazing. I’m looking forward to more updates!! JOIN JOIN JOIN!!!
- (2017-05-10) Cory Johnson: This game is so messed up, so many patches and glitches that it is not worth it, you will be lagging most of the time you play. On top of which the moderators are a bunch of childish individuals with little to no self control who bully people and are taking all the fun out the game, the developers do not care if the mods are running their games into the ground, also the dev's don't care about you as a player even if your spending money on the game. I would seriously reconsider finding another game if i were you, you will thank me in the long run. also the developers offered in game currency for positive reviews, so most of the ones you see were bought for not even enough game currency to buy anything. There are many of other free games that are way more fun then this one.
- (2017-05-06) Frogtheone: Addictive.
- (2017-04-18) Thomas Steffensen: I love this game :) Its so oldschool alike but still with plenty of options in game, lots of bosses, plenty of skills, and just hour after hour with fun and friendly ppl :) Try it :D
- (2017-04-11) GrizzMcAdams: Great classic RPG gameplay, great game. I recommend this to people that like RPG and MMOs alike. Addicting.
- (2017-04-01) Dominic Burrows: Tutorial kind of janky, but still love the game. If you are looking for a easy to play, free, RPG that you don't need to invest lots of time into, this is probably the game for you.
- (2017-02-16) Ayslan Genol: nice game, simple engine and very funny... had hours of fun
- (2017-01-11) Ashes Reborn (Ashes): Great Game reminds me a lot of classic runescape
- (2017-01-03) isabela lima: It's a very addicting game. You'll have to work hard to make a lot of money. Making things from scratch it's fun too.
- (2017-01-03) Rodrigo Price: It's a fun addictive game, very intuitive, friendly community and tons of hours of fun, plus the skill training system is something I loved.
- (2016-12-20) Christian Sulzinger: a nice game, with cool features and it makes fun since days and weeks! I think that game is very interesting and it will beat the games-market in future ^-^ And the BEST = its absolutely free! :3
- (2016-11-29) ML Jason: This game was boring some time ago, partially because I didn't know what to do but now I loved it because of the openness of the worlds. You don't have to do the main quest line, you can do whatever you want. There are a whole load of skills that you can use and you sort of just build up over time. People don't like the grinding part of this game but it's not that bad. Really good game, 10/10 play it! P.S. This game is really really addictive once you are at a stable point.
- (2016-11-16) Logan Weatherly: When I first played this, I didn't really like it that much. Thought the tutorial was convoluted, not very helpful, and hard to grasp. I recently went back and tried it again, and have fallen in love with it. I would absolutely recommend it. WARNING: Much grinding needed though.
- (2016-11-13) Ricardo Carvalho: Fun to play , so much addicting , and FREE !! Yes its free !! So much nostalgic !!
- (2016-10-19) Matt Fowler: This is a pretty awesome game very fun, lots of skills to grind out, tons of mobs to kill, and dungeons! They have a pvp map if you enjoy great pk!
- (2016-10-13) Stefano De Felici: The gameplay/style is very basic and simple, but personally find this refreshing from the monotony of modern mmo's, and sometimes just want to let me 2D character run around wacking things while I watch some videos on my other monitor. Or Fish, or Mine etc. The community is extremely helpful and any questions anybody may have will most certainly always be answered. Furthermore, there is a moderator or a staff member at most times of the day for any further enquiries.
- (2016-10-13) Zachariah M: I liked the part when I crafted stuff.
- (2016-09-04) G A: This is one game I can't stop playing. It's lightweight and multi-platform ready. It has a fairly simple interface and a much simpler design, but it has so much depth that it got me hooked since I've started playing.
- (2016-08-31) muhammad awais: LOCAL DIS D
- (2016-08-09) Julien Philippe: Awesome game, fun to pick up and play...Highly recommend
- (2016-08-03) Pod5: Great game that you can play in a lot of different ways. I'm loving it
- (2016-08-02) Aura: Very runescape esque, lots to do reminds me alot of classic runescape. The gameplay/style is very basic and simple, but personally find this refreshing from the monotony of modern mmo's, and sometimes just want to let me 2D character run around wacking things while I watch some videos on my other monitor. Or Fish, or Mine etc. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a simple relaxing mmo, the community is very friendly and helpful. and /wiki command is your friend!
- (2016-07-25) Totally loving this game! Fun to play, addicting, and best of all, completely free! No "premium only" content, all maps and quests are available to all players, and while there is in-game currency which can be bought, that currency is also handed out to players. My only complaint is that while there is mobile version native to Android, there is no such app on iOS. The game is playable from any browser, but this does not work well, at least not on my iPhone 5S.
- (2016-07-22) harison86: Awesome kind of niche game. Lots of grinding, leveling up, optimizing equipment, really satisfying overall. Also a lot of fun if you play with a friend and support each other with different skills.
- (2016-06-21) Gothar: Having spent over 8 hours a day on this game over the past 2 weeks, I would count myself as experience enough to write my opinion on this game. This game is obviously not for everybody, does not have the flashy graphics that most games have nowadays and is /simple/ enough to understand once you get into it. The community is extremely helpful and any questions anybody may have will most certainly always be answered. Furthermore, there is a moderator or a staff member at most times of the day for any further enquiries. After many years the game is still being played by around 300 or so unique users a day so it is far from dead and is being updated monthly with big patches coming out every few months. The game is NOT pay to win however, you can drop a little bit of cash in order to save the coin costs on certain items like the firelord set, orbs of luck and such. You can also buy a 30 mn potion which increases the exp gains of EVERYBODY currently playing by 2x which prevents only the buyer of the potion to benefit and instead includes everybody. The various professions, skills and crafting are very easy to understand and is well developed. There is an in game wiki which can be used when needed and new players should definitely use it and try to learn how to use it but can always ask in chat if they cannot find something. I definitely would recommend this game to anybody who loves spending hours on grinding in a social, friendly environment. 5/5 from me.
- (2016-06-19) J S: RPG MO isn't your typical game. It's set up to encourage lots of semi-afk time, making it a perfect background game to play while playing another game, browsing the internet or even doing something away from the computer but within earshot... but at the same time, there are also hands-on activities for when you want to focus your attention on RPG MO. There's a heavy focus on gathering/crafting skills - fishing, cooking, woodcutting, carpentry, mining, forging, jewelery, alchemy, farming, breeding and fletching. It's up to you whether you want to level crafting skills with what you've gathered in order to make your own gear or simply sell off the raw materials for quick cash in order to buy gear from the player market (or heck, some of both). Unlike most games, there aren't "classes" to select from when creating a character. Instead, you determine what type of fighter you are based on what stats you choose to train - magic (mage), archery (hunter/ranged physical damage) or melee (with the freedom to choose how you want to balance offense and defense). You can also choose to go for a hybrid build. That can leave you weak for your character level if you spread your stat-building too thin... but it can also strengthen you if you balance it well (for example, having moderate archery skill as a melee fighter gives you a ranged option against much higher level enemies/bosses that would own you if you stood in melee range). Also, the game has plenty of content to keep both casual and hard-core players happy so you're free to play at your own speed. You can do group (dungeon-type) quests, solo questing/grinding/farming, boss farming (once high enough level), and even pvp if you wish (mind you, the pvp is 100% avoidable if that's not your thing). RPG MO is a pay-to-play game (ie you have the option to spend real money on in-game currency). I've played a lot of that type of game and can honestly say that this is one of the ones that really does P2P the right way. In other words, it truly *feels* optional (unlike games designed to make you feel like you HAVE to spend money to be competitive and/or to make the game reasonably fun). Most games up the currency-to-cash ratio significantly for larger purchases in order to push people to drop $50-200 at once in order to get the best deal they can afford... but not this one! Spending $50 at once works out to 9.1c per MOS vs 1c per MOS when spending $5 - yes, a better deal... but not nearly enough to make you feel like you're getting ripped off if you only want to cough up $5. Furthermore, the game has no concept of "soulbound" - everything you can buy with MOS can be sold on the market, which means if you don't want to spend money, you can pay gold to buy MOS items from other players. Buying MOS is simply a short-cut to reduce the amount of time you have to spend farming. All-in-all, it's a very fun and flexible game that anyone can enjoy!
- (2016-05-06) Naldiyanto Sofian: It's a good crafting rpg with lots of skills to train, lots of mobs to see, lots of maps to explore, lots of items to see their various stats and to try which give better for the character. It's full of various stuffs that won't make us bored. worth my time
- (2016-04-09) Sean Wiseman: This game is great to play while watching a movie or just killing time. Love to play while I watch LoL LCS. Very nostalgic and eerily addictive.
- (2016-03-08) Nicholas Lenox: So, normally I would give this a 4.5, but that's just because I'm a stickler of so many things. However, if you liked runescape, or ultima-online, you'll find you'll enjoy this game. IT is fun, a bit grindy, but what do you expect from an RPG?
- (2016-02-29) Maya M (Marouk): This is an easy to understand and play game yet very fun and addictive. You can basically play it any time, as long as you want, since you don't depend on missions...
- (2016-02-27) royce contreras: I enjoy this game to be honest, it is very relaxing and it is a simple game, it is like a throwback runescape game but it is its very own game in its nature, you can do whatever you want and follow your own path, it is very enjoyable, -crytical
- (2016-02-23) leaf heart: i got my first capacha and im like wiat this makes no sense at all arcade graphics pretty cool i guess
- (2016-02-21) Andrew Gonzales: I did not like it.
- (2016-01-27) Stetson Lulloff: This game is amazing!!!!!
- (2016-01-10) Heroes WWW: Traditions of classic RPG. That RPG MO is reminiscent of the old days game King's Bounty. My advice. Enable all mods in options, better to play in Steam, he saves the settings mods and chat of the game.
- (2015-12-24) Vlad Gluschenko: Just perfect, If you enjoy Old School RPG this game is amazing!
- (2015-12-23) Corvo Attano: good
- (2015-12-20) Cantus: This game is amazing. There is always something to do for your character. There are minigames. There is a limited entry dungeon you can do full of good loot every 5th level. There crafting, there is gathering, there is clobbering of monsters. Moderators keep chat civil. Game designers update the game frequently. Try it out!
- (2015-12-18) Logan: I was starting to get into it, but it kept crashing my chromebook. Bummer. I wish it was more stable. [edit: I opened "rpg.mo.ee" in chrome instead of loading the app. Works much better. It's definitely in beta?]
- (2015-11-29) Randall Pushee: It's a struggle learning at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a fun game. There seems to be a lot to do and a lot of grinding, but for a casual gamer, I love it!
