Background permission explained: This lets the mobile apps connect without launching Videostream so you can browse and start videos without opening the desktop app! Also it makes us more stable and lets you close the tab while videos are playing :)
Common issues:
Can be fixed by following the options in the "Help" menu!
Can't pay? Sign out, and sign back into Chrome. Or, Re-installing Chrome fixes it.
Also note: If your tab completely locks up, please add Chrome.exe as an exemption in your Antivirus, reboot and try again. If it still persists, remove your Antivirus and reinstall Chrome.
*You may be able to download Chrome 64bit and your tab may no longer freeze.

- Use to work amazingly. Used it for years and years. All of a sudden it won't even open the app! Very disappointing. I've contacted videostream, they responded that they'd log it but nothign seems ot have changed. No other app comes close to the funtionality, so it's realyl disappointing that videostream no longer works. I'm using a chromebook if it makes any difference.

- Does not work anymore since the last weeks. VIdeostream starts up, get a blank screen and it closes automatically. using on latest Chrome version on Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon. Unuseable.

- Great app, but ran into a snag with the cast button causing the screen to get a shadow/blurry overlay, but no cast options dialog to appear. The steps listed above to disable the "Views Cast Dialog" and "Upcoming UI features" flag didn't work for me as those options didn't appear in the chrome://flags list. However, what did solve this for me was to disable the "Global media controls control Cast start/stop" flag: 1. Go to chrome://flags/ 2. Search for "Global media controls control Cast start/stop" 3. On the "Global media controls control Cast start/stop" flag, change it from "Default" to "Disabled" 4. After changing it you should see a prompt in the bottom corner to restart chrome. Do so and restart the Videostream plugin and you should be good to go

- It would stop at the middle of the streaming. It has fixed text at the bottom that block the subtitle. Don't buy this software. They don't reply to people's email.

- default position of the subtitle is annoying and requires users to spend money to change positions. Why don't you put it in the middle of the screen :)

- Had some issues when google updated back in early 2019 but no issues anymore. Love it so much I upgraded to premium last month. Now my family and I watch downloaded movies at home with no problems or streaming issues and full subtitle options.

- Asked me to download an additional app to allow this one through my firewall (already a bad sign... just give me the name I should let through the firewall and most people won't need this). Then I tried streaming different files and all of them stutter or don't resize properly to my tv. Waste of time.

- Could not get vlc to cast. Tried this and it worked after I ran the firewall application. Worked flawlessly for almost all of a high quality episode, then it stopped near the end with 'buffering'... Waited 10 minutes and it was still stuck on buffering so I tried the vid on vlc and it worked after a few tries. Worth it if only because it fixes the firewall casting issue.

- Chrome (up to date) on Mac (10.14.6) Constant issues trying to find *any* broadcast, not just chromecast on my TV: "No Cast Destination Found". Only fix is to shut down Chrome and restart and then it has no issues picking up the devices. Chromecast itself is broadcasting because my phone can pick it up but not Videostream Both on same wifi channel (2.4 GHz band) Can you please fix this - extremely annoying.

- This app could be great but it seems every time i use, i run into a new problem. Either the file format is not supported or it's chrome latest update that is the reason or who knows what else. I have had buffering issues, i have had files not loading, i have had computer not found (even though it's on the same wifi network), i have had the app not finding the library despite chrome running, etc. I am a member but frankly i have had enough of paying for something that does not improve. Worse, with the last version, it would not connect (local host refused to connect). I feel we are all beta testers for the team.
