  • (2015-01-17) Waynette Porter: Love FBReader on Firefox. It is VERY simple to use, easy to synchronize, easy to set the options on. I've used the Android app on a few different devices and had no problems setting it up, syncing etc. Same as the Windows program. All of them were really easy to figure out, get organized on etc. So I was happy to see FBReader for Chrome as well. Sadly, I wish I hadn't. For the first time, I am disappointed in it. I do not think it is the fault of FBReader so much as it is Rollapp, and I am likely going to make sure those at FBReader are aware of that. For the times I do need to use Chrome, I would MUCH rather find a different e-reader. Can't be any harder to learn a new program/app versus the frustration of this app. Rollapp's stupid toolbar at the top that sits over the FBReader toolbar makes it a pain to set the options on FBReader, to sync books between Google Drive and FBReader, etc. It's sad that a great program for Windows as well as a Firefox app and an Android app (which given that that Chrome and Android are essentially sibling companies it makes little sense that it is the Chrome app for FBReader that sucks) are wonderful. So, yet another reason I rarely use Chrome unless I HAVE to. About the only reason I have a preference for Chrome in is uploading things to my Google Drive since I can upload folders. That's about the only thing I care about that I cannot do on Firefox that Chrome allows. So, I will keep trying on Chrome, but I seriously doubt I will try with this app any more.
