- (2020-10-17) Dazz: This website is a SCAM they are using free opensource applications & asking for paid money subscriptions to use them from their server. WARNING do not use.
- (2019-03-18) JBH: Requires a "premium subscription" to properly use an app that was DESIGNED TO BE FREE. Will attempt another way, likely using Linux on my Chromebook to run my files.
- (2018-07-03) Stan Duncan: I love the look and feel of it, but there's a bug in it that makes the cursor soar across the screen and random letters fly out of it. Re-booting doesn't help. Re-installing doesn't help. The program's "Help" doesn't address the problem.
- (2018-02-04) J V: rollApp sucks. It is completely pointless, it keeps prompting for cash, it is laggy, buggy and unreliable.
- (2017-09-08) DorianDotSlash: As with all rollApp "apps", it's basically a remote desktop connection where you're viewing a controlling LibreOffice which is running on a server somewhere. It's slow, really annoying to type on, and they want to you pay to get a faster experience. I've also lost files with a few of their "apps", saved files that just disappeared and more more more. Just don't waste your time with this. You can't even use it offline. At least you can use the Micosoft Word/Excel apps offline and it actually runs ON your computer!
- (2017-04-17) Dennis Toll: LibreOffice Writer has been a major part of my productivity on a Chromebook. I am very happy to pay to use it. I tried rollApp several years ago on my first Chromebook and it was difficult to use. But the product is so much improved now, I enjoy using LibreOffice and other apps. So, please ignore those who complain about paying for a "free" application. Sure, if you are using Chrome on a Windows machine, there is no need. RollApp is not designed for you. But for those of us who use Chrome OS -- and are very happy about it; no Windows is a benefit -- then rollApp has become a very useful product. For those times when Google Docs just doesn't cut it, or when I need to make a document with biblical Greek and Hebrew, LibreOffice is perfect.
- (2016-09-29) Terry Witter Herr Witt: Personally , I like this word processor ... Works well ...
- (2016-09-22) Adam Thomas: makes no sense at all to me. Just download Libre Office (free) to your machine and forget Microsoft's pay-for products. LibreOffice does it all and more!
- (2016-09-17) Warwick Barnes: Crap software for a chromebook. Can't insert images into a ppt. Useless
- (2016-08-21) Frank Meijer: thanks, i like this program.
- (2016-06-09) Carrie Reeves: Love it!! So do my kids, we just downloaded last night, thank you for creating this for FREE!!! So amazing!
- (2016-05-29) Frog Feathers: Useless to me as it would take my files to cloud. I have enough memory to store my files, even though I paid Google and NSA for storage space.
- (2015-11-22) good idea but a shame not working with other language method. any solution? chrome input method?
- (2015-10-25) Susan Klatz Beal: Impossible to use. Totally user unfriendly.
- (2015-09-28) For the people who are complaining because it cost money needs to realize they are offering a virtual service. They need to pay for the servers and bandwidth that is being used to run the services. They also have to pay their techs. With that said, they do have a free package and it only cost 5.99 a month for a subscription, which is cheap. Open Source software does not mean Free as in free beer but FREE as in freedom. With that said, rollapp.com has a nice legitimate service. Great way to utilize open source software.
- (2015-08-05) Betty Davis: NOT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
- (2015-05-28) sks sss: Please add Japanese to Language Settings!
- (2015-03-19) J D: As others have said forcing people to save to their own pre-existing cloud is obnoxious at best.
- (2015-01-31) Kupfer Kuppel: Really, selling free software as an expensive service? At least warn people so they don't waste their time on it. If I wanted online I would use google docs.
- (2014-12-15) Adil alatemsh: grate thanks
- (2014-12-09) Blaine Harris: why would anybody pay for a service that offers you a otherwise free service... there are equivalents that work with chrome and chrome os that are also free... don't be duped by rollapp who is completely against what libreoffice stands for
- (2014-11-23) Gary Tom: Considering the whole idea of Libre Office being a "project of the not-for-profit organization," who "believe in the principles of Free Software and in sharing their work with the world in non-restrictive ways," (taken from the Next Decade Manifesto of LibreOffice), this ad-filled, subscription-requiring, monopolizing is completely against what LibreOffice is. A monthly subscription to rollApp? Completely useless.
- (2014-10-30) Very slow......
- (2014-10-09) Andrew Carr: would purchase premium for offline support. good app but it really demands money if you want to close your laptop and comeback. in other words, it times out. better than nothing tho.
- (2014-08-07) No: Too slow to be useful. Slow meaning 20 second response to keystrokes. Looks like it might work OK if the speed issue could be resolved. Uninstalled...
- (2014-07-29) Tammy Ray: What a pain
- (2014-07-06) Jarol Leon: I loved the app. Need some time to learn how to save files to Dropbox and the various "cloud" options, but this is definitely one of my top 5 fave office apps.
- (2014-06-26) Mohmmad Tomizi: Cool app, easy to use and fast.
- (2014-06-20) Abdilda Ahmedini: Cool app, easy to use and fast.
- (2014-05-18) Olivia Cadogan: Nice effort to move LibreOffice to cloud. I like it.
- (2014-05-14) Alexandra Malinsen: simple documents editing application for users like me, who want to make sure we have appropriate tool to work in cloud storages.
- (2014-05-12) Slava Rahimich: This is much cheaper alternative for me. When it comes to the cloud, I see a lot of benefits of working with dropbox and google drive.
- (2014-05-07) Aime Lombard: Nice try to move libreoffice to the cloud!!!!
- (2014-05-05) Eugene Livrin: Great .doc processing app here. I may compare with offline Libre Office and honestly don't see so much difference.
- (2014-04-21) Kole Natron: It looks like cross-platform app simply because your OS doesn't matter. It's fully online and doesn't require installation.
- (2014-04-17) Barbara Huver: Online tool doesn't mean not supporting quite complex elements like diagrams. It displays everything correctly.
- (2014-04-15) Hose Mubarik: I Love libreoffice but this rollapp is crap- dumb commercials when you try and open excetra. Don't waste your time with this nonsense.
- (2014-04-14) Dhan Badash: Good news for Chromebook users. You can now access free Linux apps like LibreOffice via a cloud provider - rollApp
- (2014-04-12) Bruce Kelson: Easy to save toolbar customizations and menu settings. Way to go.
- (2014-04-08) Vladislav Scoville: Chromebook is great machine to use this app.
- (2014-04-08) Rita Ristic: Offline version crashes all the time, but this one is well done :)
- (2014-04-06) Jean Marsh: I like it because LibreOffice has a lot forums and tutorials. So if you don't know an answer, you'll find lots of sources.
- (2014-04-06) Haven Ludwig: Wouldn't even let me use the editor on my chromebook.
- (2014-04-03) Joel Banks: Even spelling and grammar checker are working
- (2014-04-01) Anna Nelson: App supports non-english characters and keyboards. No limitations in language.
- (2014-03-31) Monica Beilke: My concern was about Spanish dictionary, but it is working if you use correct settings.
- (2014-03-24) Lisa Crowell: I can select back ground color, but font color isn't always work. I believe this is a problem for original software, because I've had the same problem on desktop app.
- (2014-03-23) Vlok Burger: It is improving software over time. However, I've noticed that export and import is maybe the biggest problem for rollapp. Native app deals with it better.
- (2014-03-12) Debra Mabb: Nice interface. Free. Does job.
- (2014-03-08) Ron McIlvaine: I'm sorry, I really want this to work. I have so much invested in Libreoffice, presentations for praise songs in the church, etc, but it is so slow and clunky. I'd use Google Docs, Presentations and Sheets , but they do not read ODF files. I need this app to work better or for Docs to read ODF. :-(
