Description from store
Web Page Downloader is a powerful Chrome extension that allows you to download and save entire web pages, including linked resources, for offline viewing and archiving. With a single click, you can capture the currently active web page, along with all linked images, PDFs, documents, and other web pages from the same domain.
NB! Unfortunately, if a page includes elements that load content dynamically, such as when a button is pressed, that content cannot be saved during a download. Dynamically loaded content is only added when the page is loaded or scrolled down.
Version 2.0:
- It is also possible to download web pages that are generated on the client side.
Version 2.1:
- You can effortlessly save entire page as single HTML file.
Version 2.2:
- You can download a variety of file formats, including documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, videos, audio files, and compressed archives.
- I fixed the download issues.
Version 2.3:
- Improved document download functionality
- Made it more visually clear how far the download has progressed
- Now you can save the zip file to a location of your choice
Version 2.4:
Feature Request System - Introduced a comprehensive feature request system that allows users to submit, view, and vote on new feature ideas, fostering community-driven development.
Version 2.5:
- Persistent Filter Preferences: User download filter settings now automatically save and persist across browser sessions
This extension offers a convenient side panel for easy downloading. Quickly select the content you want to save using the built-in filters and initiate the download with a single click. All downloaded content is compressed into a ZIP file for efficient management.
The ZIP file contains an "index.html" file, which serves as the entry point to the downloaded web page. When opened in a web browser, the "index.html" file faithfully reproduces the original web page's layout, styling, and functionality, ensuring a consistent viewing experience even when offline.
NB! Some websites go to great lengths to prevent anyone from downloading their content, and therefore for some websites the downloaded html may differ from the original html.
Web Page Downloader intelligently handles linked resources, updating the links within the downloaded HTML to point to the locally saved files. This ensures that all linked content, such as images, PDFs, and other web pages, remains accessible and properly rendered, providing a complete and self-contained offline copy of the web page.
Whether you need to archive important web content, create offline documentation, or simply save web pages for later reference, Web Page Downloader offers a reliable and efficient solution. Its user-friendly interface and robust functionality make it an invaluable tool for anyone who frequently works with web content.
How to Use
Navigate to the web page you wish to download.
Click the Web Page Downloader extension icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the popup.
Select the items you want to download from the list and click the "Start download" button.
The extension will begin downloading the current web page, including all linked resources from the same domain (images, PDFs, documents, and other web pages).
Once the download is complete, a ZIP file containing the offline version of the web page will be automatically saved to your default downloads location.
Locate the downloaded ZIP file and extract its contents to a folder of your choice.
Inside the extracted folder, you'll find an "index.html" file. Double-click this file to open the downloaded web page in your default browser.
The offline version of the web page will load, complete with all linked resources, allowing you to view and interact with it just like the original online version.

- (2025-04-16) Jessica S. (darkocean): Doesn't save any zip file in the downloads folder! Also, I want the option where to save the file I have separate folder made for saving webpages and want to put the saved pages in there.
- (2025-04-15) Sergio Samayoa: Looks nice, easy option selection, started to work but it never finished, looks like got in an infinite loop and there is no way to see what is doing (a log somewhere or to the console would be nice). FWIW this is the page I wanted to scrap: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zvse/6.2.0?topic=end-service-information
- (2025-04-13) Ronald N.: Great tool. Scrapes Websites and images. Was looking for that quit some time. Works just fine.
- (2025-04-04) Deean Ahamed: When I tried loading a website, it did not properly work and was just as good as ctrl + s
- (2025-04-02) Jacob Holmes: Simply didn't work. Downloaded about 5 files out of over 3000. Site I was downloading from was simply directory structure and had no redirects or offsite links.
- (2025-03-29) Lucas 'Ktulu789': Only downloads one level, there's no way to chose how many link levels down you want, there's no way to chose file types wanted, doesn't download site format, final result looks plain, the zip feature is just annoying because just to do a couple tests you have to unrar each file each time just to find it didn't work at all. The zip file doesn't contain a top folder so you can easily make a mess of your downloads folder. The good thing is that each zip has a number, maybe epoch time or something, but each failed attempt will have a different name which is not too bad. I wanted to download a webpage with a list of files, the list links to each file's description and inside each of those description pages there's the actual link to download the files which are .js and are not being downloaded like the internal .js files. It's about a 100 scripts for the Intel Map for the Ingress game so I would rather find an automated way to DL everything. I needed 3 levels: List, descriptions, .js files.
- (2025-03-27) John O'Hanlon: Zip file is corrupt, doesn't work.

- (2025-01-24) Chooseto Production: Best alternative of HTTrack
- (2025-01-21) Nick Thompson: Does a good job of what it sets out to do. The people who say 'it doesn't download an entire website' need to read the description. It doesn't suggest it does. You wouldn't post a bad review of a screwdriver because you can't hammer in nails with it, would you?

- (2024-10-10) kebakent: I got this to download a website I had open in private mode, that I didn't want to lose, but all it did was crash the browser and not download anything at all. I lost the content I was trying to save, so thanks for that.
- (2024-10-09) Chris “Topher” Michael: Nice plugin, works like i need but would highly suggest being capable of specifying the link structure which i want to save, for example only download the pages of links that look like .com/docs/*and-whatever-after-the-docs-path/ that way i dont save a lot of pages that i dont need or want.
- (2024-09-23) Rohit Malhotra: Trying to download a site https://web.archive.org/web/20231112020218/https://openai.com/ The extension says "You can find the zip file in your downloads folder", but there is no zip file there. The zip file is not being downloaded. Was working before but no longer downloads the zip file .
- (2024-09-20) Angelos Kitridis: The page is downloaded but every time I'm trying to open it, I'm getting the following same error: "Your file couldn’t be accessed It may have been moved, edited, or deleted. ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND" I've tried on different browsers but the result is always the same. Any thoughts? Could it be a windows setting?
- (2024-08-27) WRI Front Desk: It works as advertised.
- (2024-08-27) Attila Pethe: Unfortunatelly it does not download any pdf document for me. Any chance to corect it?
- (2024-08-26) Gary Corbett: Works fine... Except, is there a way to perform a quick-and-easy webpage download into a single HTML file, instead of having to save all the downloaded elements into a folder?
- (2024-08-25) Solymosi Levente: It downloaded a website and one of the css files were broken and cannot be extracted.
