- (2024-03-23) DL Ford: I love it! I found work around(s) for some of the buggy features it has. I read today that the develop will have to close it in December. Update 3.22.24. Make sure to save your files to work with other programs. I have a script that will not update and now I've lost it.
- (2023-03-20) Lord Of the things: this is/was the greatest software/website on the market...
- (2022-06-23) AlStar: I really like this a lot! After I heard that Screenplay Formatter for Google Docs is going away on July 1st, I thought I wouldn't have found another screenplay website / extension! The only thing I do wish to be a feature is dark mode on YouMeScript, that is all!
- (2020-12-11) Jackson Scott: Beautiful. Perfect. Dilligent. Easy.
- (2020-12-05) mikayla smith: I liked the simplicity of formatting but it is so glitchy! I wrote 66 pages and it "lost connection". Usually when it did that I hit retry now and it would reconnect and I could keep writing. But it "lost connection" and wouldn't reconnect. So I hit reload page and it DELETED all my work back to page 11! I have no way to restore it. The backups that saved everyday only backed up since page 11. So now I have lost my entire script and have no way to restore it! This is a complete nightmare! DO NOT USE.
- (2020-09-21) Shiuli Mukherji: After writing 8 pages and saving to test it, if it gets shared with other teams. Waisted 60 mins and task incomplete. The coding team needs to pull up there socks. While sharing if the app YouMeScript is clicked then automatically the screenplay should appear not a blank page.
- (2020-02-22) Bradley Buurman: this was exactly what I was looking for, but a problem has come up. it keeps saying backup has encountered an error and even after i reset it, it stills comes up
- (2020-02-08) Samuel Hopely: I'd just like to give the developers a genuine thank you. I've only just begun using this app, but it's exceeded my wildest expectations. As a broke film student, it's really hard to justify spending hundreds of dollars on screenwriting software, and with Amazon Storywriter getting the axe there was no truly good option for efficiently writing in an acceptable format. Not only does this contain all the features that I loved in Amazon's software (most importantly autofill for character names, I can never seem to remember what the heck I named them...) but so many features I would have never thought of. Where this truly exceeds anything else you can get for under $200 is the ability to link a screenplay to Drive. Even if I'm not directly tag teaming with a partner, which is either way never efficient or productive despite being fun, I have the ability to give collaborators on class projects access to an always up-to-date version of the story. I can't believe this is free, and I fully expect to patronize the developers by upgrading to premium. If nobody is paying you to write, which is likely the case regardless of your connection to this art form, you must look no further than this app! Just please for the love of God don't take this gem away... my ghastly screenplays aren't going to pay the rent any time soon.
- (2020-02-06) Jacob Quinn: The Best This is by far the bet screenwriting tool out there. I have used Celtx, Scriptbuilder and WriterDuet and this thing blows away all of them. Getting it to work can be a challenging at first, mostly becaue I'm paranoid about my privacy and block cookies, popups etc. But once Youmescript gets going everything feels perfect. At one point, I changed a character's name from "Danny Boy" to "Danny" and the software kept bringing up both names. I found a feature that allowed me to delete "Danny Boy" so I wouldn't have to deal with my previous choice and have not found a similar feature in any other screenwriting software. If you write scripts, you owe it to yourself to use this. Its free and for $20 you can use it offline as well.
- (2020-01-09) Harry Whittaker: THIS IS HELLA CERTIFINE I USE IT TO WRITE DOPE SCRIPTS!
- (2019-12-26) Twisted Adventures: Looks cool, but it isn't worth paying $20 just to work offline. Google apps are meant to work offline, so why can't I work with this offline too?
- (2019-12-01) Elle Young: I very much love this extension & will be sharing it with my screenwriting peeps!
- (2019-11-21) Horatio Duke: I was looking for something I could access anywhere with an internet connection, and that would automatically sync to my drive, distraction-free, and with no ads. This is all those things. You don't need to know much to get started, other than the tab button scrolls through the different kinds of text you want to type (character/scene header etc). Thank you for this excellent product.
- (2019-08-11) Devon Delmar: I struggled to get it going at the start. Is there a guide somewhere that I missed? How the collaboration process works, for example. But once I got it up and running, its a breeze.
- (2019-07-28) Jeff Hobson: The only thing it doesn't seem to have that I wish it did was the ability to save scripts to (and load from) shared drives in GSuite accounts. Otherwise is working perfectly for my needs!
- (2019-07-27) Alexander Toner (Sasha): I just downloaded this to give it a go, but of course before doing so I decided to read and the reviews, and MAN I was not disappointed. The publisher clearly responds in a short amount of time with actual help and recommendations for problem solving, but is also sassy in a most deserving way. So absolutely I want to give it a go.
- (2019-07-22) Richie Vu: Great for what it does, but could use more features like tools for script breakdowns and visualizing your script. Collaboration is also great but could use some work just finetuning how it looks.
- (2019-07-03) The Creative: Completely dope on every level
- (2019-06-15) Official Art Productions: It was great. But now it's no longer working. Please fix it.
- (2019-04-27) Kurzov: A massively underrated script-writing app. The "premium" is priced just right, while giving you enough features without being a general dick to people that don't want to pay to use the app, in the way that *some* apps and utilities lock vital features of their programs behind paywalls. As the description states, it was written by scriptwriters for scriptwriters. I shared this application with my former theatre fundamentals teacher ... she had never heard of it before and she said to me that she would share it with her students in her more advanced theatre classes. Plays. Scripts. Lights... Camera... Action!!
- (2019-01-19) Timm Prozell: Thats it! close to be perfect.
- (2018-12-15) sandy chukhadarian: this is inactive as of december 9th. i can't use it at all. sucks but for the fact that i had saved a pdf copy on the google drive. there has to be more accountability for this app. the developer posted an apology but that's not good enough when you need to work.
- (2018-10-26) Chrysocolla: Wouldn't work on Google doc.
- (2018-10-03) Jackson Compean: This app started out as such a great thing, providing easy formatting for script-writing. However it has become an absolute nightmare. Trying to move dialogue blocks around, or even just making revisions that change paragraph length significantly, has caused so many weird fritzs within the program. I keep having paragraphs not show up when printing, or even disappearing on the screen and sometimes appearing elsewhere. Its honestly such a massive pain in the butt, and I have no idea how to fix any of it.
- (2018-10-02) Old Email: Absolutely love this app / extension. Does exactly what I need it to do. Makes formatting a script easy and professional looking. Works on my work PC and my home Chomebook. I even paid the $20 to get youmescript pro so I could work offline and sync data after using the free version for a while. Cannot recommend it enough, especially when I see or read scripts that I can't take seriously because they're formatted incorrectly. No reason to not at least try this app. Also Jake has great customer service.
- (2018-09-14) Josephine Armendariz: The app seems useful but I can't seem to get it to connect with google. It won't open the actual document on google drive, and when I try to share it with someone it only allows them to view a picture of it.
- (2018-09-03) Does exactly what I want. I'm collaborating with a friend across the country and we can work together in real time with Google Drive. Plus it works on my Android tablet and phone for small changes when I'm on the go. I upgraded to the pro version for $20 to support the developer. I'm not sure this works on my iPad. That would be great though
- (2018-08-08) Kari Funk: This was the worst site I have ever had I will spread this word as well. Not good at all. The typing cursor was too slow, the pages would close and open autimaticly. This website is the one thing I will never try again.
- (2018-07-02) Wes Gardner: I have been hunting around all day for paid software that has real-time collaboration. Thank you! This is awesome. I actually find it faster to use than Final Draft 9.
- (2018-05-26) Gen xx: Permissions won't work. Window opens and closes. *shrugs*
- (2018-05-15) Jacob Roland: This is pretty much a perfect screen play writing application. It's quick and does what it needs to with as few keystrokes as possible. Thanks for making this!
- (2018-03-28) Molly Shilling: Had issues with it everyday. I kept getting "null" requests and the program would automatically delete changes that I made.
- (2018-03-17) Shaimond Foye: It works great for me! I tested the free version first and liked it so much I decided to upgrade because it's affordable and I wanted to support the developers. It's nice to be able to access and update my scripts from anywhere. I like the offline and backup feature in the upgrade. Thanks for making a great web app!
- (2018-02-28) Dempsey Tapley: It's weird that this is free. but, its simple and lets me write words, in that special movie format... switching from mostly doco work to writting, and this make it's weirdly easy... does it like retain the rights to the script or something? lol..
- (2018-02-24) Jen Winslow: This app has been perfect. I began using it on my laptop but then moved to my Chromebook that I just use for writing. I have written two scripts in the last few weeks and am putting one into production as soon as funding is secured. The fact that I can have these changes readily available to anyone else through Google Drive is an amazing feature to have as well. Thank you for this app that works exactly as it should. It has even caught some of my own mistakes and made me look amazing!
- (2018-02-19) Raymond Laser: Excellent job. I'm always looking for a serious alternative to final draft with a real time collaboration feature (Writerduet's servers are much to slow) Is there a way to change the size of the typo to match final draft pagination ? Like this, scripts are 15% longer on Youmescript than on Final Draft and that's a real issue.
- (2018-02-19) Lightwavers: My only problem with this is that I cannot get it to save to Google Drive, making it functionally useless to me. Other than that, it's a good app.
- (2017-12-31) Alex Pagliuca: It's amazing! It saves me time, and it makes screenwriting so much easier! However, Whenever it says "Script Error" at the top in red, I have to load the script in another tab so I can write it there. Because theres only a matter of time when it says "connecting to google" which takes forever. But it's nice anyways!
- (2017-12-08) Armando Saldanamora: Complete lack of flexibility and based on a very personal assumption of how a script should look like. After a couple of minutes you'll realize this was created by amateurs. Even uninstalling this is a nightmare
- (2017-12-06) Mike Dolan: I love this app, it makes teaching screenwriting graceful and efficient. BUT I have one BIG problem with this application. It freezes when updating on a regular basis. A window comes about Connecting to Google, and it is highly frustrating especially in a classroom setting. Is there a way to avoid this problem? Is it a network speed issue? Thank you. Other than that it is a solid 5 stars, but this issue is causing me grief everyday.
- (2017-11-10) madison allen: Terrible
- (2017-10-23) José Karate: Huge time saver! Thanks you!
- (2017-06-23) Barbara Lambert: Tells me that YouMeScript is not private that I can be hacked. No, thank you. I will just stick with either Celtx or Amazon Storywriter which both do the same as the YouMeScript. Disappointed.
- (2017-06-18) Liam Culley: its is very helpful with writing stories. Only complaint is that it doesn't look the prettiest.
- (2017-06-15) Samuel Purdell: So thankful this exists. I use Google Drive for everything, and I also need a screenwriting program... This is perfect.
- (2017-02-10) Anthony Dilio: Awesome!
- (2017-01-27) Thomas Midena: Elegant. Runs well. Looking forward to watching it grow.
- (2016-12-17) Sky Tallone: Great formatting, super easy to use, perfect for collaborating. Have needed something like this for quite some time. :-)
- (2016-10-30) Bernard Lyall: It works. Intuitive, effective and stylish.
- (2016-09-14) Chris Berberich: couple minor glitches but overall nice and simple.. perfect for a beginner
