Thanks to the amazing Reddit community for loving my extension and sharing your thoughts.
@Andrew Ken Stewart, the published date detection enhanced.
@Youseph Tanha, images can be saved locally now.
@helmut x, I've added keyboard shortcuts and right-click menu support. You can now use the extension even when the icon is hidden.
@megalomania_medton, your suggestion was spot on! In the new version, I've implemented a feature to save YouTube video transcripts directly to Obsidian.
@OFlahertyPaul and @idosom, thanks for pointing out the performance issues. I've made some optimizations.
@Ambitious-Parfait672, I've added support for LaTeX equations, just for you!

- (2025-06-13) DarkWars SlothSin: Can't seem to get it to pull the transcript from the videos. It is enabled. I'll love this plugin long time if I can get that to work!
- (2025-02-12) Dmitriy Tymchuk: Great extension, super helpful to have a full transcript of a Youtube video, which I later summarize and make it preaty using AI. Having some more customisations would be nice. At least the template how it saves to Obsidian.
- (2024-12-20) John Burns: Excellent tool. Would like a little more customization. Either the ability to add to another note (ie a page created by Obsidian Webclipper), or the ability to add many of the same properties as the webclipper. This author has surpassed Obsidian in the basic notion that a transcript is EXTREMELY useful. The author is also very engaged in the product, which is nice to see.
