Ad Highlighter reveals banners, sponsored links, and some videos. This tool makes it possible to immediately recognize where live websites place ads around webpages.
This extension is a bit rudimentary, as it only checks the property values of a page's HTML tags for matches within a very limited set of strings. The typical ad blocker checks against classes, scripts, and some other specific properties against a vastly larger variety of potentially matching values instead. Hence, there are a decent number of false positives and negatives.
