The Merlyn Origin Chrome Extension works with the Merlyn Origin remote to allow you to control your browser. It enables your remote to perform one-click actions like:
Navigating between browser tabs.
Clicking through slides.
Scrolling the page.
It also enables you to use voice commands, to perform actions like:
- Open my Google Drive.
- Search Google for photosynthesis.
- Zoom in.
- Close tab.
- Enter full screen.
The use of the Merlyn Origin Chrome Extension is governed by the license agreement and privacy policy within the extension. To initiate the sign-in process, the Merlyn Origin Chrome Extension authenticates with Google requesting permission to access your identity, including your email address. We use your email address to identify your account and to manage the services we provide and the costs we incur in providing the Merlyn Origin Chrome Extension. The provision of these services adheres to the terms and conditions outlined in the service agreement that dictates the extent of support offered, including the end-user license agreement integrated within the extension itself, as previously mentioned.
To open files from your Google Drive using your voice, Merlyn Origin Chrome Extension authenticates with Google requesting permission for read-only access to the names of your Google Drive files. Merlyn Origin Chrome Extension does not request permission to look into or change your files.
In order to function, the Merlyn Origin Chrome Extension requires these permissions:
- bookmarks permission: to allow you to open bookmarks at your command
- storage permission: so that your options persist from session to session
- background permission: so that you can use Merlyn Origin even when the browser is closed
For your convenience, host permissions are requested for all HTTP and HTTPS pages.
