This is very annoying and inproductive. Previous Password Manager was better. I hope changes will be programmed and bugs solved.
- (2025-07-01) Jan karlsson: I have almost always liked Bitdefender's products, but the browser extension Password Manager is unfortunately not good enough to be used in everyday life. The idea behind it is good and it is easy to understand how to use it. But it is often (not allways) noticeably very slow, you often have to wait quite a long time for it to retrieve the login details. Sometimes it does not even want to show all the details and you have to go in and retrieve them manually. I have tested it on 3 different Windows computers, both old and brand new fast computers and the problem is present on all of them. The problem is also present regardless of which browser you use. I have tried them all. Then Bitdefender has not updated its instructions regarding changing the master password. What is stated on their website is not correct at all as the web interface looks completely different from the description from Bitdefender, and it is no longer possible to find the option to change the master password. Now I managed to change it, but only after logging out and then choosing to change the password at the next login. But there is nothing in Bitdefender's documentation about this that I can see. The same applies if you want to find out more about how to manage and change an incorrect password database. This is easy to do but is not described in the documentation. I have not tried other features as it feels pointless until they have sorted out the basic problem of slow and unreliable login. I hope Bitdefender will sort out these problems soon as the idea of a password manager in their security suite feels completely right.
- (2025-06-26) Not the One: Horrible. Password manager and even wallet were sooooo much better, more intuitive, and frankly functioned better. The lag is insane, the harassment for your pin is ridiculous, and it will not fill in fields nor let you chose a credential after you have put in your pin for the 300th time. The import of the password manager / wallet file was also incorrect and incomplete. Once you open the site you would like to use your credential, you MIGHT be able to chose it after waiting a minute or two, maybe.... Many times this is not even possible. You must open a separate tab or window, open the browser extension directly, login... AGAIN, and physically copy and paste the credential you intended to use. Terrible and frustrating.... on a good day.
- (2025-06-21) Spencer Ledger: Why is there no Windows app for this? Would be far better as an app, in my opinion. I dislike browser extensions as they clutter my browser thoroughly. Would prefer if there was a Windows app.
- (2025-06-17) Shawn Pitman: Worst password manager in the world. It constantly harasses you on fields where you don't want it, and you can't disable it from doing that. Forgets to input the account name on more than half the sites that exist, can't handle sites that ask you for username on one page and then password on another. You're honestly better off using the plethora of FREE password managers that exist that weren't programmed by a bunch of inbred orangutans like the goofs at BitDefender.
- (2025-06-04) Bence: Worked for a while perfectly fine. Then is keeps asking me to enter my pin every 2 minutes now which is annoying. I have set it up to ask me every 24 hours. Opened a support ticket and got no resolution to my issue. Will not buy again utter useless.
- (2025-06-03) Paul Scott: This is a very good product and it's getting better and better! I love the family and groups feature and the fact that I can always check if my passowrds leaked somewhere. good job!
- (2025-06-02) Adrian Helerea: After using Bitdefender services for over 14 years, I’m genuinely disappointed with this product. I actually regret paying for it. Surprisingly, the Bitdefender Password Manager is even worse than I anticipated. There are multiple issues, but the biggest one is the login process. First, you need to authenticate with Bitdefender — and using Google or other third-party accounts fails around 80% of the time. Then you have to enter a separate password to unlock the vault containing your credentials. Recovering this vault key is nearly impossible without contacting support. Even when you're logged in, the app is often inactive. When you're on a login form, the browser extension usually prompts you to refresh the page to access your credentials — which is frustrating and inefficient. I can’t rely on this app without going through 10 unnecessary steps just to log in. Fortunately, I use LastPass as a backup — it works flawlessly and allows seamless credential sharing with my family.
- (2025-06-01) Hari K Patibanda: Bought it as part of overall Bitdefender Security package, but regret the decision. A very unfriendly annoying interface with a large popup that constantly asks to login. There are no options to manage that or remember the login for a time. It randomly works and sometimes pops up even when we have logged in. Its far from a polished product and the functionality falls woefully short of the quality of their other products which I love. Hopefully, they quickly improve upon on this - hard to live with the popup annoyance and poor functionality.
- (2025-05-29) Mina C: It wasn't as good in the beginning, but I see they've fixed some issues and it is great now!
- (2025-05-29) Vlad “Rhaskos”: I like the new design of the product, it's more polished than the last iteration of the password manager. There are some autofilling issues for some of the services that I use, but I like the path of the product and the constant updates, should be better with time.
- (2025-05-29) George R: There are some bugs in the last update, but overall it’s still a solid product from Bitdefender. Great mobile apps, too.
- (2025-05-29) DNF LLM: Managing passwords across devices has never been easier. The vault system is super intuitive—perfect for organizing personal, work, and shared logins. It's fast, secure, and the clean interface makes it a breeze to use. Cross-platform syncing works flawlessly. Highly recommend for anyone who values both security and simplicity!
- (2025-05-26) Lisa Andres: This is a steaming pile of poo. I can't even get logged into it using a google sign in. There was nothing in the advertising mentioning it was going to be a browser extension. Going to Bitdefender's support forum is a joke. They close comments as soon as someone tells you "it's still in beta". So we're beta testers, cool beans. I just purchased the security suite but thank goodness I'm on a 30 day trial so I can cancel this if the rest of their product is just as bad.
- (2025-05-20) Olivier Ponton-Desautels: I simply hate SecurePass... I have tried all the biggest password management software (Lastpass, Roboform, Nordpass, Dashlane...) and eventually settled with (RIP) BitDefender Password Manager mainly because it was included in my Internet Security subscription and found that it was decent and easy to use. I have to say I am utterly disappointed with SecurePass which appears to be Bitdefender Password Manager successor. SecurePass is awful at everything, whether am using the browser extension or the Android app it simply doesn't shine in anything. Bad interface, managing a list of accounts cannot be done in bulk (importing account info from Password Manager imports all pass into a new folder, you have to move them manually one a time back to the vault root), authenticating to the vault is a pain whether from the Android App or the browser, settings are extremely limited in both mentioned platforms, it makes you want to remember your passwords and never use it again... Unless the dev come up with a functional and enjoyable software I will gladly throw my money at other softwares and ignore the fact that its part of my Internet Security subscription. @Bitdefender, How could you fail so bad at revamping a perfectly fine software?
- (2025-05-20) Lance Barnard: Worked great for a while and now it constantly asks for my pin which never works or my master password which keeps it logged in a few minutes if I am lucky.
- (2025-05-18) Gabba Ghoul: I feel completely scammed by this. I paid extra purposely for the Password management and here it is just a lousy chrome extension that barely works, has a horrible interface to navigate and always logging you off so you constantly have to log back in so now every time I need it I have to go through that hassle. My previous virus protection the password vault was part of the actual software, easy to access anytime I needed it just overall blew away what Bitdefender has to offer here. It's enough for when my license expires in a year (BTW make sure to turn off auto renewal before they overcharge you even more this junk) I will be going with a different virus protection program. Do yourself a favor and just use the password management that chrome already has.
- (2025-05-16) David: can't for the life of me figure out how to view saved passwords. Lioke, REALLY?!?!?!
- (2025-05-13) Henry and Erna Hubert: Thank you helping with installing and getting me going.
- (2025-05-08) Jayson Blair: A downgrade from Password Manager. It has issues autofilling and other topics, which have caused me to set it down and use the old password manager in another browser.
- (2025-05-06) Barbra Agsteribbe: Horrible
- (2025-05-03) Justin Paul Albertson: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/bitdefender-password-mana/hjiaiapigbnlahicmcacnmhfckgjdgbl Have not used. Can you include a way to import from Bitdefender Password Manager? Is this a matter of web-application for [this] securepass? *note I have a link to edge-extension NOT chrome extension*
- (2025-04-22) Brad Mander: Initially when I switched from Password Manager, Secure Pass was actually working better than the Password Manager did. Now I can't access it. I remove the extension from chrome then re-install it. Nothing I do makes any difference. Why Bitdefender would release a product that clearly has major issues is beyond me. Unfortunately I only just recently renewed my Bitdefender subscription. I won't be doing that again unless they get this SecurePass sorted and quickly.
- (2025-04-20) Lk Griffin: TRIED to install with NO guidance or instructions and the only thing I have able to do when I click on the link to activate the program is to come to this page, It must Have done something cause it disclosed some possible links to 'extensions but I have NEVER been able to create a password to the basic program start.
- (2025-04-19) 0xC00: I don't understand all the hate from the reviews before. I've started using it recently and I have had zero issues saving the passwords. Every time I input the password, it has also saved flawlessly and has also synced onto my phone without any issues. However, the autofill: Most of the time and on most websites it does work. But on a few websites I have noticed, that it does not input the credentials, or inputs the password after I input my Mail/Username manually. Yet I still do not understand the bombardment of 1 star reviews. If you do not like securepass, then do not use it and continue using the old passwordmanager.
- (2025-04-19) Phillip Zerr: This thing is a disaster. It doesn't access the websites loaded into it in most cases. A few of the websites load and auto fill but most don't. The former Password Manager worked well. This doesn't. I will looking for an alternative.
- (2025-04-16) Soloredis: I regret switching from the old app. This constantly signs me out of all my password manager apps on all 3 of my devices, desktop, ipad, and iphone. All of my apps are updated, and I checked the remember me option. I restart and BAM it signs me out again. This is absolute garbage, idk what happened but its not like the old password manager.
- (2025-04-16) Ken Mosholder: Tried to install it. Couldn't figure out to actally access it.
- (2025-04-15) Allen Hemphill: I'm sorry I switched from the old password manager to the new SecurePass. It barely autofills at all. Edit This is so rubbish that I've come back to complain again. I also notice that Bitdefender does not monitor this channel. 1) Incessant logging in - both to the Bitdefender account and Securepass. In the same session. WHY? 2) Does not autofill 3) Does not save passwords EVEN WHEN IT SAYS IT HAS! You go to the vault and guess what? Password wasn't saved. Really???
- (2025-04-15) Stephen Armour: A royal pain in the butt
- (2025-03-31) Natalie Whitty: The worst mistake I have made in a long time. I dread having to try and login to anything because this just does not work. On the occasion I have hope it's about to work, it does not fail in failing. Can I give this zero stars?
- (2025-03-31) Chris Pa: nothing is working.. so bad. i was using password manager 3 years and was perfect, and now this..
- (2025-03-30) sights2397: Bad choice :/ BitDefender Wallet, the previous extension worked very good which I really cannot say about 'securepass'.. bad choice, you should work harder for these giant fees BitDef
- (2025-03-27) Julie Castro: If I could give this zero stars, I would! This extension is terrible. I was highly encouraged by Bitdefender to upgrade to Secure Pass and it was a mistake. It doesn't autofill passwords, doesn't offer to save and/or update them, it is incredibly slow when you click on it to load your list of passwords (it doesn't load them all), and if you want to look one up it will open a tab where you have to search for it. So there is pretty much no point in even having the extension when I have to use the site anyway! I am stuck with it because the old Password Manager isn't available anymore. If this doesn't improve, I won't renew my subscription when the time comes.
- (2025-03-26) Robert Ironside: I have attempted to download this service, but could not advance with the instructions, which would never give me availbility to access completion of being a user. I would like to have a method to no have to use my password by typing it in every time I open Bitdefender each day. I have not been able to find instructions that will assist me. I have for years valued your service, but I is becoming so cumbersome I am having doubts about is efficacy.
- (2025-03-25) Jairene Cruz-Eusebio: worst password manager ever. practically been forced by bitdefender to use this (upgrade from password manager) and IT IS AWFUL. it's ultra slow, does not autofill username/passwords. when you click open and autofill, it opens a new tab but still does not autofill. you can't view password history, you can favorite logins... feels like a beta app released publicly. worse, i paid the subscription that includes the password manager (so i paid a higher fee just to get antivirus/vpn/password manager) in one place so i felt like i was robbed when upgraded to securepass. if you were like me who was unlucky enough to try this, I have a solution for you. here's the link to the password manager extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/bitdefender-password-mana/ibkoenhablealnikeefmjineccmgegmh?pli=1 you will not find this when searching in chrome webstore because it has been replaced by securepass, which is a piece of s***, so I'm giving this to you! hope it helps other unfortunate souls.
- (2025-03-23) Daniel: This is not a very good service. It fails to autofill on website, so you have to manually search for each passwords. It's supposed to autofill, but just fails. The only useful feature is the security report, which identifies duplicate or weak passwords. Overall, other Password Manager services are better. I only use this because it is part of a wider security subscription. I wouldn't buy this as a standalone product.
- (2025-03-21) Ted Mulder: I am trying to load this and can't even get it on FireFox - keeps acting like it isn't loaded. Did it 5 times! Trying it on Google now, but I use both browsers. So even if it loads on one, not worth a whole lot to me.
- (2025-03-21) Elliot Thompson: Basically unusable. Buggy, crashes out, won't auto-populate, fails to load, etc etc. Password Manager wasn't perfect but it's 100% better than SecurePass.
- (2025-03-20) Freedom Lover: Downloaded Bitdefender to replace Kaspersky due to Russian Government control of Kaspersky. Bitdefender anti-virus seems to work ok but Secure Password continually sends me emails asking me to activate it. I have tried but no success to activate yet. All it does is send me to download the Google Secure Password extension, which I have already done. Useless- Bitdefender, get your act together or I will be looking for yet another AV bundle.
- (2025-03-08) Martin Spanik: WOW. How is something this terrible even possible in this day and age? Where do I even start!? You have to log in twice every time you get logged out—once with your central password and again with your vault password. That might be tolerable if it happened once a month, but multiple times a week on all devices? Are you crazy!? INCREDIBLY annoying. Managing passwords is clunky. It often freezes when you're trying to save an account. You can't multi-select and move accounts across folders. You can't import categories from your previous password manager. It’s slow to load passwords. It’s awkward to create new passwords. The app is awful on iPads. I honestly can’t think of a SINGLE reason why anyone should ever use this terrible password manager—not even for free, and not even if they paid me to use it.
- (2025-02-28) Sheree Dutton: Horrible! The extension doesn't work and when I contact support, they want me to schedule a remote session. What a waste of my time! Just refund me please. I want kaspersky back! I used it for years and it worked great!
- (2025-02-28) Maria B: Horrible. Difficult to navigate.
- (2025-02-27) Dimitrios Dimolas: The previous password manager was working really well in comparison to SecurePass. SecurePass does not fill the usernames on the sites and it's too slow while waiting for the usernames popup to appear. No option to go back to Password Manager. SO I AM TRAPPED with this useless SecurePass addon. Fix it or allow us to move back to Password Manager! I'm not supposed to pay for a subscription in order to perform Unit Testing for Bitdefender Your QA teams are not doing what they are suppose to do... If they did you wouldn't have released SecurePass
- (2025-02-26) Srikant LR: Ridiculous to move from password manager to this app. Difficult to save passwords, does not auto populate. Sometimes populates password in the user id and vice versa. Now it does not allow me to go back to password manager either Enough to make me move away from Bitdefencer entirely.
- (2025-02-24) Sebastian: Super laggy, sometimes the popup to select the password does not open or open very unpredictively. Search function does not work, when I click the search field the popup disappears. Completely unusable.
- (2025-02-23) Edson Lopes Filho: BitDefender is messing around again. Password Manager was ok but this one is no longer filling the passwords on WebBrowsers. Time to go to VaultWarden.
- (2025-02-20) Dale Kiehl: HATE it. MUCH preferred the old password manager!
- (2025-02-18) John Davis: Very disappointed. I was optimistic when the app imported all my Google Password Manager settings, but I find the app unusable. No autofill, so you have to click around for a few seconds, seemingly randomly, until a drop-down appears with your details - or sometimes "Generate Password". Even worse on my Android phone. For example, today I tried to get into a website: - about ten seconds waiting for the app - have to search for the site I'm trying to access, to get the details - whole screen warning of a connection issue (there wasn't a connection issue) - try again, and get asked for fingerprint to access the app - now I'm asked to enter my BitDefender credentials, not the vault password, but the BitDefender account - so I have to remember that password - gave up I'm going back to Google for now. This app is such an utter letdown.
- (2025-02-17) Calin BANCIU: Unable to activate SecurePass despite all my efforts.
