Linkumori (Clean URLs) - Reclaim Your Online Privacy
In today's data-driven world, your browsing habits and online activities are constantly being tracked and analyzed by a myriad of third-party services. One of the primary ways this is accomplished is through the use of tracking parameters embedded in the URLs you visit. These parameters allow advertisers, analytics providers, and other companies to follow your digital footprint across the web, compromising your privacy.
The Linkumori (Clean URLs) Chrome extension is designed to combat this pervasive issue by automatically cleaning and purifying the URLs you encounter. It methodically removes the various tracking identifiers and parameters that are appended to URLs, preventing these third-party services from collecting and aggregating your personal data.
By installing Linkumori, you can enjoy a more private and secure browsing experience, where your online activities are shielded from unwanted surveillance and profiling. The extension works seamlessly in the background, ensuring that your URLs are cleansed without interrupting your normal browsing workflow.
Key features of Linkumori (Clean URLs):
Automatic URL cleaning: The extension automatically identifies and removes tracking parameters from the URLs you visit, protecting your privacy.
Comprehensive coverage: Linkumori is equipped with an extensive set of rules to handle a wide range of URL-based tracking mechanisms, ensuring a robust and effective cleaning process.

- (2025-07-28) dean miles: Frequently breaks sites; i've had the strangest things completely stop working due to this extension, youtube subtitles for example. Competely gone.
- (2025-06-29) n ascentt: Amazing extension. The only url cleaner that works since the ClearURLs addon was discontinued for Chrome.
- (2025-06-24) Robin Winslow: I'm giving this 4 stars because it's a reliable and easy to use extension which has "just worked" for me for months. But it loses a star because it does more than it claims, in a somewhat opaque way that wasted an hour of my time: Linkumori turned out to be the reason why Google Docs was claiming to be "offline", because it blocks XHR requests to docs.google.com. I spent ages figuring this out. I have other extensions to do this sort of blocking for me (UBlock Origin Lite, Ghostery), which are more transparent about it. I updated their whitelists, but I never thought Linkumori would need me to do the same. I'm switching to tracklessURL, which hopefully will stick to its specific stated job. We'll see.
- (2025-06-23) Avi Schwartz: While its predecessor, Neat URL, was far from perfect, it kind of worked for me after adding a ton of rules. With the new version too many sites break and so far I didn't find a way to fix it. For example, reddit links don't work any more. Linkumori strips all parameters and I end up always in the reddit home page. With The Washington post links I end up with few error lines and no article. I was much happier with defining which parameters to remove by myself. This version does too much automatically without a way to override. I found myself turning the extension off to get certain links to work.

- (2025-01-24) Brent B. Powers: Cleans up URLS in exactly the way it is supposed to. As are many, I'm a refugee from ClearURLs, and this works as well if not better.
- (2025-01-21) DACBARBOS Brand: Linkumori is a browser extension that helps users protect their online privacy by purifying URLs. It removes tracking parameters from URLs, potentially making it more difficult for websites to track a user's browsing activity. The extension is compatible with Chrome's Manifest V3 and integrates with the History API. Its maintainer is responsive and quite helpful.
