Simple Tab Audio Capture: Record Tab Audio & Mic Stereo audio in MP3, WEBM or Wav Formats
Capture audio from your current tab effortlessly with the Microsoft Edge Audio Capture extension.
Once the capture is complete, the output file is conveniently saved on your computer. This extension allows users to record audio from any tab in Microsoft Edge, with the ability to record multiple tabs simultaneously.
Recordings are saved in either .webm, .mp3 or .wav format, and users can choose to mute tabs while recording.
To start recording on a tab, simply click on the extension icon and utilize the user-friendly interface or customizable hotkeys to initiate and halt recording.
Upon completion, or when a predetermined time limit is reached, a new tab will prompt you to save and name your audio file.
Remember to save your file before closing the tab to prevent loss! Explore the options page for various output file formats and additional features.

how to use
After installing the addon:
navigate to a webpage with audio playing eg a youtube video
click on the extension to bring up the recording popup
click start recording and watch as audio is recorded
When recording is finished. click on the finish recording to save the recorded audio in the local storage

- (2025-02-20) Paul: I downloaded this extension because I wanted to record an audio book that I had borrowed from the library. The library allows me to play this on my computer. I make a couple of test recordings, and the results were just fine, so I started all over again and just let it go. 7 hours later the book is playing away, as expected, and the recording is also just churning away... but is indicating that it has downloaded only 1.5 hours of audio, so far. So, I'm stumped. Did I do something wrong? Is this extension incapable of recording a 16-hour book? I really wanted it to work :>(
