Barry's Image Zoom
Description from store

Barry's Image Zoom is a simple but powerful tool for viewing images in your browser in unlimited detail. Images are automatically resized to fit the browser window and can be zoomed in even further with the mouse wheel. It works with any JPG, PNG or GIF file.

To use:
- Images are automatically resized to fit the browser window.
- Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
- For fast zoom, hold down the shift key while zooming.
- Click and drag the image to reposition it.
- Double-click the image to resize it back to the browser window.

Tip:
- Barry's Image Zoom only works with single images, not entire web pages. If the image you want is part of a web page, right click on it and select "Open image in new tab".

Doesn't seem to do anything. One extra star for the concept.

Dejunai Jackson 2024-09-02

Works exactly as describe... no fluff, no extras, just picture zoom via mouse-wheel... Exactly what I wanted.

Prae Amble 2024-06-01

I don't know what these other reviewers are on about, this works exactly as described.

La idea de hacer zoom en una sola imagen es genial y necesaria, pero esta extension ya no esta funcionando actualmente. Espero que la actualicen o que salga alguna otra extension alternativa.

I'm giving this 5 stars because for me, it does its job. Beggars can't be choosers. When you zoom in, it zooms to the top-left of the image (not where you point the cursor) but you can drag the image afterwards to see what you want. Also, the zoom is very slow. I would prefer not having to turn the mouse wheel so much to zoom in. But you know what? Apparently nobody else has created a better option, and it's much better than not having the ability or having to use Ctrl+ to enlarge an entire page, so yes, it's the best and it gets 5 stars. Definitely get this if you want to be able to zoom into images in your browser.

Doesn't work correctly anymore. Now the image is constrained to the browser window. Previous to this behavior the image could be zoomed larger than the browser window and then dragged around to see details. Too bad, this was the best and there's nothing else out there to take it's place.

Doesn't work. Open in new window, no effect by mouse-wheel or clicking. There must be a working zoomer? Is this the only one?

I'm not sure what the others are complaining about, as this extension works as advertised for me and does not require as many permissions as similar extensions. When I <right-click> on an image in a web page and select "Open Image in New Tab", the image in the new tab will be automatically zoomed in to fit the browser window. I can then use the scroll-wheel or the <Cmd-+/-> keys (tested on a mac with an amazon basics USB mouse) to zoom in/out and click-drag to pan around the image. While the zooming algorithm is extremely basic (no attempt is made to reshapen the zoomed image, so it's likely just calling Chrome's zoom routines), it zooms and pans quickly.

It sounds like exactly what I want, but it doesn't appear to do anything. When I "open image in new tab/window", nothing is different. the image isn't auto-zoomed. can't zoom or pan. nothing.

Almost exactly what I want; but it requires the image to be loaded by itself... I could use Windows Image Viewer and have more functionality... If it allows dynamic resizing of images viewed on pages, then it'd be perfect.

Very basic. The only way to adjust image sizes is with the mouse wheel - too bad for those of us who don't have one! The simple addition of some hotkeys (say, Ctrl+Shift+1 for original size, Ctrl+Shift+0 for fullscreen again) would be nice. Another needed feature is some user-settings for limitations: do/don't resize images smaller than the window, do/don't resize images smaller than X by Y pixels, do/don't display original picture size in a floating tag at one corner. Those two simple features and this would be five stars.

This Image Zoom was close to perfect, but ultimately I had to uninstall it. I have an Apple "Magic Mouse" and it is not really supported by this product. There are some key features of the mouse that are broken by this product. 1) Swiping back doesn't work... it just zooms the image out. 2) Swiping down doesn't work... it just zooms the image in... it should scroll the image down. Overall, a cool product, but not if you are using the magic mouse.
