  • (2024-03-27) Reg B: 2023-2024 update: Was driving me crazy putting the popup over the work area. Why on earth would you get a popup going over buttons, typing area. Furthermore, when you pause the popup, the Grammarly popup stays over the area in question and is unworkable. Someone at Grammarly has come up with an idea and yet, on application likely has never tested it on real world users.
  • (2024-03-27) J J: Grammarly is worse than before, it doesn't come on when I write and when it does, it wants me to always sign in. Grammarly went from great for many years to good, and now bad. Grammarly fails in its attempt to correct a commonly wrongly spelled word, it's completely off in its suggestion of the word it's trying to correct. For a person that can't spell very well, Grammarly is no longer helping me.
  • (2024-03-20) Eric Ketzer: This is one of the best, but it only supports the English language (also too many incitations to get the premium. We get it that there is a premium...)
  • (2024-03-20) n ascentt: love this addon, very useful for someone that sucks at typing. However, suddenly grammarly no longer underlines words. I can still hover and correct words but the underline is gone. Edit: now lets you sign up without apple id or facebook, but once signed in everything is underlined yellow with a popup that it's locked behind premium subscription. RIP
  • (2024-03-19) Alex Chereshnev: Now demands registration.
  • (2024-03-05) Amanda Fields: I liked it a ton 'til this latest update. I use it mainly in Google Docs, every day. When using the Review Suggestions feature and I accept a suggestion or change the suggestion location myself, it immediately jumps to the next suggestion. It's really jarring. I wish I could turn that off. Overall happy with it.
  • (2024-03-05) The yellow lines underneath are very annoying. I can't seem to disable them.
  • (2024-01-29) BlueShade: The tool is really useful. However, I wish there were more options to turn certain types of suggestions off such as synonyms which I don't have much use for and just comes off more distracting than useful. This also goes for premium suggestions which I have less of a use for as I'm not interested in buying the premium version. Edit: I would also like to add that the spell check would constantly want me to have a dash in between words and mark otherwise as a spelling error even though it should just be a suggestion most of the time.
  • (2024-01-27) Adel Shaker Gergios: Adel shaker Gergios [email protected] Adel-PC [email protected]/ADELG-HOME 🌈❤️✅😊👍
  • (2024-01-24) Amos Folarin: Much improved (since my last review). However, there's a bug (/feature) where if the chrome plugin is enabled, you can't resize text areas. Additionally the floating icon blocks the down scroll button on text areas.
  • (2024-01-12) Fabien Pichard: Why oh Why would one put the widget on the top of the edit box where I type with no option to move it elsewhere. The only solution is to disable it... :(
  • (2023-12-27) Jawar Nelson: Seems to require an account now. NO to data harvesting. It has WORKED FINE ALL THESE YEARS but NOW grammy requires an account. NOOOOOOOOO I you dont need that. Stop being so damn nosey. It use to work without getting in the way. But know that it has that floating widget like thing. ITS ALWAYS IN MY WAY. Why cant I permanently hide that stupid thing?
  • (2023-12-21) Eva Kioko: It is great!!! especially when I want to produce a report or response and to check on grammar and punctuation.

  • (2023-12-01) Tom Bedford: It can be useful for catching spelling errors, but its recommendations for tone, phrasing, grammar and clarity are ill-advised and even incorrect most of the time.
  • (2023-11-29) Jun Loo: It constantly spams you with messages to go premium or use its AI bot. Most of the errors it finds are too often subjective or just flat out wrong in many cases.

  • (2023-11-21) JACKSON TAN: The extension is nice to have. Thing is that I had to re-install it after it stop checking the grammar of my entries in other web-based apps like GMail and Canvas.
  • (2023-11-15) Ben Joldersma: I want to love Grammarly. When it works, and when I need to really sound my best, it's great. But it's just so damn insistent upon itself. Why does the little grammarly logo need to appear in *every* single little text box. like the "take a note" box in google keep - it's a one liner. i just don't care if i use bad grammar. my priority there is to rush a note out. but the thing that got me to write this negative review is the premium. the nagging is just so obnoxious. i'm just trying to live my life here. and if grammarly can help - great. and i even did upgrade to premium for a month while I was interviewing, to help with my writing submissions. it's insanely expensive - what service costs $30/month!? My cell phone doesn't cost that much. but.. i did it, because hey, i need to get a job, so I signed up for a month (sure, it's ridiculously cheaper on the annual plan.) and then my credit card was used in an instacart scam, so my bank changed the number. and that's what really blew my mind. the nagging and annoyingly insistent, ever present G in all my damn inputs and textareas turned into a nightmare marketing hawk squawking at me non stop to update my credit card details. so damn obnoxious! so. yeah. great core product. but the excessive insistence on applying exhaustive, and often overkill, recommendations to my writing every damn chance it gets, coupled with the horrible premium upsell mess. i'm out.
  • (2023-11-15) hafeezullah khattak: It is a good app, i am personally recommend it with deep Heart
  • (2023-11-15) ali sadi: Amazing job, thank you.
  • (2023-11-14) Mackyle Wotring: Why isn't it working when I write on Google Translate?
  • (2023-11-12) Disciple Toki: I love the extension but it very often uses is and are incorrectly. It suggests is after referencing multiple parties and or using a plural word. I can't say I blame it as even mainstream media does this. It is still most frustrating.
  • (2023-11-06) Patricia: Grammarly isn't the worst, but it doesn't match the hype from the ads. Many useful suggestions are behind a paywall, and I'm not keen on paying. For a better option, try Language Tool at https://languagetool.org/; it works way better.
  • (2023-11-03) Jordy Stroud: a lot of basic, easy functions it will not perform sometimes
  • (2023-11-02) hi ho yo: When writing poetry, it keeps telling me to use a different tense, despite the writing teacher saying the tense I used is correct. My other language tools say the tense is correct and don't flag it, and even ChatGPT says the tense is fine. Only Grammarly flags it and it is driving me crazy.
  • (2023-10-30) Wilhelm Laubach: Not a bad plugin, but the Grammarly icon is often-times in the way and hides the text, and impossible to move. That is a bad usability.
  • (2023-10-30) nonaln: 영어는 좋은데 한글로 쓸때 계속 마지막 글자가 지워짐. 해결방법 : 그 사이트는 끄기로 설정 해줘야함. 다만 이 옵션을 설정 가능하게 해줬으면 좋겠음
  • (2023-10-28) Sean Searle: so annoying in so many ways. the worst of which, i works half the time. the other half, it freezes as I'm writing and when it becomes unfrozen, the text has been placed in the middle of an existing sentence with periods added randomly.
  • (2023-10-25) Calista Grimm: does annyone can tell me if there is an application like grammarly but in french? Please. Thank you.
  • (2023-10-24) Deimos: Helpful at times, but extremely buggy and will contradict itself with suggestions. Also will give flat out wrong definition for words which has been a nightmare for me because I will often misspell a word it'll want to correct and provided definition for the correction that seems fitting, but it turns out to be flat out wrong. I literally have to keep a dictionary handy because it somehow gives the worst definitions. Overall, there's so many issues that it's making my English composition course well worth it for not having to depend on this thing nearly as much.
  • (2023-10-24) Chelsea Sanders: Love it
  • (2023-10-24) Sydney Coleman: It works but I have to reinstall it when it stops working but it is very helpful
  • (2023-10-21) Daniel Villarreal: The app is very good. However, I can't get it to integrate into Word documents on my MacBook Pro like it does on my MacBook Air. I've gone around-and-around with the Support people with no success. Strangely enough, it integrates with my AOL email account on both computers. I am truly at my wit's ends, as I use one laptop at home (it's connected via Ethernet to my cable box) and another at my favorite coffee shop.
