🔬 Less – A Scientific Tool for Reducing Impulsive Buying
Developed as part of a Master’s thesis in Computer Science, Less is grounded in scientific research aimed at helping people curb impulsive purchasing.
Through a preliminary study, we analyzed over 2,000,000 Reddit comments on anti-consumption, frugal living, and shopping-prevention advice. From this research, we identified a set of the most effective intervention methods for reducing impulse buying—methods that are now embedded in Less, providing users with evidence-based strategies to break unsustainable shopping habits.
🚀 Future Updates
We are actively improving Less to enhance usability and effectiveness. Since Less is part of an ongoing research study, some users may currently be in a control group. Once the study concludes, all features will be merged, ensuring equal functionality for all users.
