Visualping is a simple service for monitoring websites for changes. You'll receive an email notification when it detects any change in the content of the page.

Use the service for competition monitoring, price checks, ticket availability tracking and more using the server service and email alerts (62 checks/month free) or browser tab (free as your computer does the job)
You can either choose to monitor the whole website or just an area of a website. To select the area, just drag a selection on the screenshot shown within the extension.
New element selector allows to track changes on a specific element of the webpage. The app also allows to compare changes in text in addition to visual changes.

I don't need more emails. I'd rather have the notification up in the task bar like Page Monitor and the ability to click on the notification to go to my pages to see the change.

- (2024-04-23) In 2016 I gave this 4 stars, I'm editing this to make it 2 since updates are no longer reported and some jobs haven't checked in over 4 days when I have them set to check once an hour. This stinks, since this was how you beat the robots on some limited edition items. I hope it gets fixed, then I'll re-edit my score.
- (2024-04-23) Ryan Keefer: Great utility for monitoring changes on a web page and you can target a specific area so you don't get updates for an area of the page you don't care about.
- (2024-04-22) Eolis Daybreak: Update 22/04/2024: Used Page Monitor for years, tried VisualPing for a while in 2016 but eventually went back to Page Monitor. Until it got killed off (somehow WebSQL can be removed from VisualPing but not Page Monitor? Peculiar...) and now we're stuck with this inferior version and lost all the jobs we had set up in Page Monitor. Why do I call it inferior? Because Page Monitor allowed me to set/edit a custom CSS selector and VisualPing still does not, leading to a lot of irrelevant pings because some label or image got changed but not the text you actually want to have monitored (like product stock or the amount of products in a category). It's still only possible to pick an element, but not edit it or customize it to be more specific. You'd think that an evolution of the old extension would have the same features (and more) by now? But it hasn't evolved at all in the years since it was launched, hence inferior.
