• (2025-06-11) Blue Chan: My update since Jun 28, 2018 here in Jun 11, 2025. Revisted this extension since then. The video record option still can ONLY use audio from the MIC and won't capture the sound playing in the tab. Though it claims it can capture the playing video, it won't work for Youtube ones (obviously) and for the pages it does work on, it won't capture the sound portion. As for the screen image capture. Sorry you missed the mark on this extension. Love your Gmail one. Been using and donating for years now. But this capture tool fails the mark. I found using LightShot (WIN/MAC) - a small program that replaces the standard Print Scrn button capture the screen or a portion we select, add text, boxes or marks and then save. That is what this should have been but it's mediocre and maybe the video options should have been left out of this as they don't quite work as we would like it to.
• (2025-05-14) Alexander Pardon: After adding the text or an arrow it is not possoble to move the text or arrow after. So it is hard to use. It is possible to move it around while you edit the text...but the text block keeps moving and cannot place it anymore. Really bugged!
• (2025-04-24) Shane Wright: I don't think I've EVER rated an extension before. But this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. No crazy "read and change all data on all websites" permissions - select a portion of a page, and add consistent-looking annotations (arrows/etc) to it, then Copy to clipboard. Easy and does it great. FINALLY found it!

• (2024-05-23) Arizona Recommerce: It's my favorite screenshot and screen recorder extension - it does everything really well, and there are no crazy privacy invading permissions. There isn't anything this extension can't do that the others do - except this one's free and doesn't spy on us or send mystery data to third party harvesters. I did send a contribution to get rid of the watermarks and also because I want to support Jason. All his apps are great and privacy friendly. Side note, for some reason the audio recorded with Explain and Send is far better than on that large competitor that starts with 'Awe', which is another major plus. Not sure why but it is, especially when using a bluetooth headset like Sony XM5. Sounds fabulous with Explain and Send, and basically useless on 'Awe'. Just sayin'. The ONLY downside - and it's a big one for me - is that the videos can only be saved in the open source WEBM format. This is not great as it requires re-encoding in order to be edited, which I need to do frequently. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE an option (for extra pay of course) to let us save our video casts in MP4 format and at 1080p or higher.

The only thing I could wish to add is a quick keyboard shortcut or two. but tbh I would only remove 0.2 of a star for lacking that, as the right-click option is pretty easy as well.

However lately, i'm unable to correctly capture the Entire Page. It has been working exactly as the the "Visible Page" option for me...So i keep needing to take multiple screenshots by manually scrolling the page, which is inconvenient :(
