Docs Online Viewer introduces a convenient way to view documents on the web.
It uses third party online services like Google docs API (or other services when available) to open links with extension PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, PPT, RTF, ODT, ODS, ODP, CSV and many more file formats online in the browser itself without need for any third party software installed on your computer.
This extension reduces the need for additional software required to open documents such as Acrobat reader plugin, Microsoft Office and so on. This is less resource intensive compared to using external software/plugins which are a bloat on your system and may cause browser / system crashes. It also reduces the risk of downloading malicious documents.
Docs Online Viewer is lightweight and tightly packed so that it does not slow down your browser.
If there are any bugs or if there are any missing features, please report in the "SUPPORT" section. I will try fixing them.

- Lightweight extension that takes advantage of the google docs viewer to display office and other files in your browser without having to open up separate applications. Can take some time for the viewer to load and may need refreshing. didn't work with all the formats listed e.g. ODP. But was useful for rtf files where there are not many other options. Examined the traffic and doesn't seem to be anything dodgy being sent out. Needs access to all sites because of the links it creates so theoretically this could be a security concern. Hasn't been updated since 2021 but that's not so concerning as it works. This is only a viewer. For editing I would recommend Googles Office Editing for docs extension though this is much bigger.

- Hi, not open .docx , i analize and any license problem. linux user, chromium. Nie otwiera docx, dostałem mailem a używam linuxa, chciałem otworzyć, podgląd niedostępny, analizowałem kod i dokopałem się że to problem z licencją. Microsoft - musi zarobić, ale mam jeszcze wiele opcji..

- Works well nearly everywhere. Question please: when I click in options, on "Open in New Tab" then Save, it doesnt save. SO when I open the document online the original window disappears. How can I force it to open in new tab automatically please? Thanks

- Ерунда какая то. Так понадеялась на него. При нажатии на иконку рядом с doc документом пишет Предварительный просмотр недоступен https://yadi.sk/i/YocdYkvgCbXzxg. При нажатии на Open in new tab этот параметр не сохраняет.

IMO, it's missing three things: 1) none of the options save (open in new tab or file types) 2) it doesn't detect all the file types that the Google Docs/Drive Viewer can handle (e.g. javascript - .js) 3) it needs an option to turn off linking to the viewer as embedded
