Remember the best of what you read

Image from store Hibou
Description from store Hibou uses the magic of spaced repetition to help you remember the best of what you read. Spaced repetition is a proven technique that waits until you're about to forget something before reminding you to review it. This allows you to remember as much as possible in the least amount of time. Highlight content Next time you're reading an article on the web and you come across a fascinating tidbit, quote, or useful statistic, just highlight it. Remember it forever Hibou sends you notifications when it's time to reread what you've highlighted. There's no third step, but there is more Hibou can do this and a lot more. Tag highlights by theme, turn off or increase the time between reviews, add notes in the margins, and more.

Learn about retrieval practice, the study technique, at www.retrievalpractice.org There are still some bugs, but not vital, and i believe they will be fixed very soon (in one-two weeks).

  • (2015-12-20) Dan Ryu: I really like the concept behind this app. But there's on bug that makes it unworkable for me - it's always active when I use gmail on chrome. Everything gets highlighted, it keeps prompting me to leave a note. I wish it didn't have that problem. I hope it's fixed.
  • (2015-10-29) Megan Dix: I love it, I use it daily to finally put all of my inspiration in one place. But would highly recommend to any college student looking for that life saver while writing that 4 am research paper.

  • (2015-10-21) Eli Bildner: Really wonderful learning tool. I'm always lamenting how much seems to slip through the memory sieve when I read articles online. Great way to capture what you learn, and then keep it fresh.

  • (2016-02-23, v:0.5.2) Cian Rafferty: reviewing items
Hi, I'm really liking the look of this app, very neat. I think there is a small bug though when reviewing items, before i was able to add extra notes on the right hand side, but recently whenever i would press the space bar it would skip to the next review item.
  • (2016-01-20, v:0.5.2) Roy Cai: Annoying Google search bug
Great extension, but once you highlighted something on google search result page example https://www.google.com.au/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#q=anemic It goes to highlight mode every time you search something. Please fix this.
  • (2016-01-02, v:0.5.2) Elizabeth Henning: Hibou + Workflowy
It's an interesting extension with potential. I was hoping to use Hibou to prepare a "review digest" of my notes in Workflowy. It does post the highlights to my Hibou account, but the highlights disappear from Workflowy and the links only point to my Workflowy home page, even if the highlights were made on some subtopic page. Can this be fixed?
  • (2015-12-27, v:0.5.2) Dan Ryu: Highlights everything in gmail
Hi.. I like the app. But if I have it activated and I open gmail on chrome, the app start highlighting everything in my email even though it's not on. Have others had this problem? Thanks.
