So of course I didn't get to "stop" it where I wanted to, which was about 1 minute later. Thought I'd try again later. 1 hour later I came back to my computer and lo and behold, there was a new tab with the Audio Capture, 20 minutes long, and a "save" button, which of course I used. Then I played the file back with VLC; it was great for the first 30 seconds, then the speed doubled AND the sound went abominably scratchy.

  Really hope that there will be a workaround for the time limit. Want to use it for recording stream of several hours. Audacity can do that, but it can't ignore sounds or alerts from other apps. Even just dumping a sequence of 20 minute files would be OK, I can join them later myself.
