  • (2023-11-08) João Silva: the only function I used on this app, "Rename Tab", has suddenly disapeared.the app has therefore become virtually useless to my needs. Would be great if fixed like it was.
  • (2023-10-20) Tibe Knuts: I realy like this an I have an Idea: Make an option that you can turn in every rule that if you open that page it will automatically folder itself in an folder. :)
  • (2023-10-13) Michael: I'm loving the extension, it does exactly what it's supposed to. I have one suggestion though: an AND condition. Example: I have this website where the identifier "module=Messages" can be in multiple places in the URL. At this moment I have to make multiple rules, because I don't want the tab to be renamed in different domains. So my desire is to be able to do this: URL contains "my.domain.com" AND URL contains "module=Messages".
  • (2023-09-07) Cena Bale: Please removing the context menu!!! Please new updating for background (black) & text (grey) if i will 5 of 5 stars
  • (2023-09-06) jsosmd: You have to configure each "rule" separately, so it lacks simple typing/pasting in of new name/title. However, it is quite intuitive, and its function is solid (survives Chrome updates) and the renamed title WILL persist through reload, refresh, as well as restart of the browser.
  • (2023-09-01) Terence Chen: Simplicity and clarity. Easy & quick to use with reasonable features. Don't have to spend time wondering how to setup.
  • (2023-08-25) Bjorn Verryt: Excellent. Renaming tabs is very easy with the super clean UI, while at the same time allowing very deep customization with DOM selectors and regular expressions.
  • (2023-07-02) Gerizelle Pepito: I got so excited when it was able to rename my tab until it slowed down my laptop overall, esp google and it's lagging, my first try even spiraled to just a black screen. Eventually, I got convinced the plugin did this because when i removed it, everything worked smoothly again, altho ofc this is from a non-expert pov.
  • (2023-05-31) Timo Ziegler: Great possibilities!
  • (2023-05-02) dotel: this is the first time I rate a google extension, i don't have too many words, 10/10
  • (2023-04-25) not fake: I'm sure it does other stuff fine but I only got this because it says it can rename tabs and it did not.
  • (2023-03-19) Ilyas: Nice extension, thank you! 🖤 Please, port it to FireFox)
  • (2023-03-17) Paul B.: Really great extension, wish it were being actively developed. Buggy Regex implementation however. Also would be great to have enable/disable checkboxes for each rule for testing purposes.
  • (2023-02-22) Russel F Fears: Tabs Survive Name Customization through Chrome Updates. I have tried several of these to rename tabs & save to bookmarks and/or OneTab. Of course, Google has a habit of changing things that wreak havoc in perfectly functioning and useful extensions... This is the ONLY one I could find that reloaded tabs (after closing window, program, or computer restart), ALWAYS renames to what you want it to be. It does take some time to figure out & is more complex than others, but even on sites that self-refresh or domains that seem to keep some pages named while not remembering others, this extension has not failed to rename any of my modifications yet.
  • (2023-01-26) Jeff M: This tool along with tab groups makes keeping track off all my open tabs so much easier. I am a developer and always have a ton of open tabs. Great job
  • (2023-01-13) Brenda Posh: Maybe I just don't understand rules or I'm not a programmer or it's just too difficult for my simple use. I set a rule, it appears to work, then I can't figure out how to use it twice. I just want to make a simple onetime name change to tab title. Maybe if I understood more of how people who love it are actually making it useful to them and some real examples - might help me. But for now it's too much.
  • (2023-01-13) shirley elrick: This something I have wanted for some time. I use research databases. Many of the 'sullpiers' have specific databases with individualized search forms. (ie Find My Past; Family Search). I need to have many tabs open for each supplier. Using URL as the name of the tab means they are all named the same. Being able to name the tab so I can find which one to use same me a whole load of effort. The Extensions works perfectly, and the step by step instructions are easy to follow. A nice layout for the input page too.
  • (2022-12-30) Adan Md: Great for pricing out some things on amazon. I usually rename tabs by price and whatever other attribute is important for my search. Saves me lots of time. Wish, renameing would work without deleting all rules first and starting from scratch again. "Rename" option should over/rewrite previous rule/s I'm using Opera, seems Chrome broke something for other users.
  • (2022-12-19) Alex Huppert: Really good extension. I've gotten a lot of value out of it. The selector and regex title matching are powerful. It seems to work well and has all the important features I want. Of course, there are less important features that could be added or tweaked, but overall I've been quite impressed with how much it can do. The only thing that is conspicuously missing is the ability to disable rules without having to delete them. I'd love to see that feature added.
  • (2022-12-04) Илья Кондрашов: It's really perfect extensions. But i don't kwon how can i past into tab name value of elements from page code. Ex. i have <span>Some text</span> my "Some text" it variable element dependig opening page. How can i use it? Pls help!
  • (2022-11-28) Logan B: Doesnt work, the title flashes the change and then returns to the chrome given title Version 107.0.5304.122
  • (2022-11-10) Iman Akbari: Doesn't work on Chrome version 107.0.5304.87
  • (2022-11-09) Jakub Gąsiorowski: Is there a chance to add regex support? String in selector is too long for me. I would love to cut a part of it.
  • (2022-11-01) MirAli Hosseini (Ali): So nice
  • (2022-10-19) Peter Amir: DOESN'T WORK
  • (2022-09-28) oopalonga: Looks like to rename a tab you have to click the tab, then click the extension, then click "rename." Cumbersome. Should just be able to right click a tab and select "rename." Also, after renaming some tabs, it would appear to work, but then the page would automatically and quickly refresh, and the tab title reverted to original.
  • (2022-09-05) William Ivanov: Very useful
  • (2022-08-24) Jessy Ross: Was a great option, but the app no longer works. Previous rules are now gone and new ones are no longer saved?
  • (2022-06-30) Carlin Li: doesn't seem to work anymore
  • (2022-06-27) Beverly Black: It malfunctions too often which is really annoying.
  • (2022-05-16) Andreas Moll: 2022 To change the terrible chrome icon on tabs is still not working. No, I've done everyhing right The new icon is only visible in the programm tab modifier itself
  • (2022-05-15) Val Ellis: no longer works lol
  • (2022-05-08) H G: I Forgot about this didnt even notice right click easy use! Love it.. i change titles that always have the (3) notif annoying call outs as i desperatley click on notifs to get rid and it wastes time, distracts so thanks so much. My mind really is a btch!
  • (2022-03-17) Dani W.: AWESOME! I use it in combination with tabs I automatically open when I start the browser by command line and it works like a charm.
  • (2022-03-09) logan stone: Nice
  • (2022-01-10) Present Shi: With the help of this tools, BAIDU becomes a dangerous website
  • (2021-12-29) Or Schiro: Automatically pin tabs that match a specific URL pattern. Bummer this extension is no longer maintained.
  • (2021-12-21) eve: Very easy to understand and easy to use.
  • (2021-12-01) Elvin Aslanov: Useful.
  • (2021-11-18) Hpic ahliyo: 好用,谢谢
  • (2021-11-11) Gadi Shiloah: Very clever yet simple extension. One of the first things I (re)installed when getting a new laptop.
  • (2021-11-09) Sarah Blackmon: All I want is to make tabs custom colors so I can increase productivity and easily find certain apps, since I use several browser based apps for my workday (most of which are linked to the same general domain). You cannot do this here at all. You can add a color bullet for the icon, but only if you want the most garish tones. What is tech's OBSESSION with fuschia? Put some soft colors that don't strain people's eyes as options. I could do this one FIREFOX in 2009 so I don't see why I can't do it on Chrome now.
  • (2021-11-06) Hao Liu: So helpful! Thanks.
  • (2021-10-22) ابو جابر ر: no like it , i do not know how to use it
  • (2021-09-29) Pat MySecret: Effective at saving names of renamed tabs, which is something I hadn't found in any other extensions yet. However, it won't let user set up different instances for the same website. I use multi-logins, and I'd like to keep the session name/user in the tab. There are a few extensions that will allow this, but as soon as the tab is refreshed, the name disappears. Also, Tab Modifier stops those other extensions like Tab Titler, and its likes, from allowing individual tab title modification for the same site, so I'm better off uninstalling this extension.
  • (2021-09-23) Meow Cat: Quick rename reloaded the page with unsaved changes.
  • (2021-09-11) Link Safe: Cumple con todos los requisitos.
  • (2021-09-06) lucas: great api easy 2 use 100% recommend
  • (2021-09-02) Brian Fisher: Doesn't allow you to do a one time tab rename, and developer is opposed to adding it - very dumb to have to install multiple tab renaming systems to get both rule based and one of naming, and having multiple systems sometimes fights with each other.

  • (2015-12-02, v:0.8.0) How to specify different icons?
Hello. Thanks for Tab Modifier! 1) Does "icon" *have* to point to a URL, or can it point to a local path? For example, to a directory on your local hard drive containing a library of "favicons"? 2) Does Tab Modifier go out to the URL each time it wants access to the image? Or just the first time? That is, if I choose a favicon on some dodgy site on the far side of the world, will that slow down my tab opening? 3) If only available by a URL path, then how do you identify a good library of icons that are available? Any recommendations of a site? Thanks.
  • (2015-10-22, v:0.6.0) Kevin J. Wangler: added to chrome, but it's not there?
I added the extension to Chrome (I'm using a new Chromebook), but there's no icon for it on the toolbar like all my other extensions have. What am I missing? Should I see an icon? I don't see how to use this extension.
  • (2015-10-12, v:0.6.0) Adam Stout: Is there a way to modify what is captured from the regex?
    I am capturing part of the sub domain to move to the front of the tab but I would like to see it in caps so it is easier to read. Is that an option I'm missing? For instance I would like these to prepend "A - " and "B - " to the title, but I get "a -" and "b -" which is expected, but not desired: testa.mydomain.com testb.mydomain.com "mydomain.com": { "title": "$1 - {title}", "url_matcher": "test(.*).mydomain.com\/" }
  • (2015-10-12, v:0.6.0) PPC UAWC: using dom element
Greetings, is there some possibility to change title by using some dom elements content? For Example: I need to see real unique title in Google Adwords. And i want to use in title text of qp-f class (it's clients name)
