Copy Relative Link is a lightweight productivity tool for anyone who manages website content — from marketers and bloggers to web developers and content editors.
When working across multiple browser tabs or content management systems (CMS), it’s common to copy links directly from a live or preview version of a site. But doing so often grabs the entire absolute URL, including the domain — like:
https://preview.example.com/products/widgets
That might work temporarily, but it can cause long-term problems:
🔗 Broken links if your domain changes
🧪 Preview/staging URLs leaking into production content
❌ Inconsistent linking across your site
Version 2 expands the original “Copy Relative Link” feature with powerful new options:
Copy Relative Link — Right-click any link to copy only the relative path (/products/widgets).
Copy Selection (Relative Links) — Right-click highlighted content to copy it with all internal and URLs converted to relative paths (domain matches current page, excluding subdomains).
Copy Current Page Path — Click the toolbar icon to copy the current page’s relative URL.
Keyboard Shortcuts — All features are available instantly via customizable shortcuts:
Copy link under cursor: ⌘⇧L / Alt+Shift+L
Copy selection (relative): ⌘⇧S / Alt+Shift+S
Copy current page path: ⌘⇧U / Alt+Shift+U
Use it when:
Adding internal links in a CMS
Writing Markdown or HTML for blogs
Working in staging or preview environments
Ensuring your site uses clean, portable, and domain-agnostic links
No fluff, no configuration — just a faster, cleaner way to get the link you actually need.
