Description from store Make character limits easier to manage in Salesforce. Salesforce fields often come with strict character limits, but it's not always obvious how close you are to reaching them—until it's too late. That’s where Salesforce Character Limit Helper comes in. This Chrome Extension helps Salesforce users by showing a simple, non-intrusive indicator next to text fields that have a character limit. When you hover over the icon, it reveals how many characters have been used, how many are remaining, and the total limit for that field. 🔍 What It Does: Adds a subtle # icon next to standard and custom text fields (e.g., Text, Text Area, Long Text Area). Hovering over the icon displays a quick summary of character usage. Gives live character count warnings as you type: 🟠 Nearing limit (80%+ used) 🔴 Limit reached Numbers are formatted with commas for easy readability (e.g., 1,000). Designed to look and feel native to Salesforce, using subtle colors and icons. ✅ Works With: Standard and Custom Text fields Text Area fields Long Text Area fields 🚫 Not Currently Supported: Rich Text fields (e.g., fields with embedded HTML) Lookup, Master-Detail, or Relationship fields Fields without a defined maxlength attribute ⚙️ Why It’s Useful: Salesforce doesn't always make character limits visible, especially for longer fields. This extension reduces the frustration of submitting a record only to be told you've gone over the limit. With this helper, you'll see the limits before you hit them—saving time and clicks. Whether you're writing account descriptions, case summaries, or opportunity notes, Salesforce Character Limit Helper gives you the heads-up you need without getting in your way.
