Description from store Ever buy paper towels, protein powder, and a birthday gift in one Amazon order… only to see it grouped into a general “Shopping” category in Monarch? Now, there’s a better way. This extension helps Monarch sync with retailers like Amazon to better categorize and split your retail purchases, automatically. You’ll now have … 🧠 Smarter categorization 🧹 Cleaner budgets and reports ⏱️ Way less manual editing 🗒️ Notes to remind you the details of a transaction HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: • Download the extension and log into Monarch (make sure you are logged into your Amazon account from the same browser) • Your initial sync will include orders from the past three months • Any orders that are matched to transactions in Monarch will be split and/or recategorized as needed • You can choose to have a new sync occur every 24 hours to match and categorize any fresh orders • Historical orders can be synced with a manual backfill from the extension settings Amazon support is live with Target coming soon. No more guessing. No more re-categorizing. Just clear, accurate categorization and insights that make Monarch work harder for you. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION • While the extension currently supports Amazon US, we’ll be working on Amazon Canada soon. • This extension uses AI to process receipt data and properly categorize transactions. No personally identifiable information is ever shared and the only information passed through is what is required to analyze the order itself (i.e. item name, merchant name, price and purchase date).

  • (2025-07-08) Eric Pulvino: So far so good. Just need to sync it periodically. It seems to miss some transactions sometimes but gets them later.
  • (2025-07-06) Thomas Li: Doesn't work for amazon.ca ... Please make this work for Amazon's Canadian website! (it's literally the same website)
  • (2025-07-04) Jim Dierkes: This new feature clears up a huge blind spot for Amazon transactions, and it just worked perfectly for me!
  • (2025-06-24) Jackson Horne: this is awesome. the fact it even splits the transactions is so cool
  • (2025-06-18) Jana Churich: I think Monarch has potential to be a one stop shop for simple personal budgeting however accounts that use a two factor authenticator (i.e. financial institutions) fail when syncing so unless you go in and update manually each time you open the app/website it really doesn't give you a full picture of your accounts.
  • (2025-06-12) Matt Margulies: Game changer! WELL DONE Monarch!
  • (2025-06-04) Kaitlin James: Please make this work for Amazon's Canadian website!
  • (2025-05-31) Jeremy Mischke: Works great! Automatically splits Amazon transactions and the categories assigned almost always match what I would make them myself. This really helps with tracking where our spending is going.
  • (2025-05-26) Beryl Raff: I just installed the Monarch Money Money/Retail Purchases extension. It worked like a charm! The accuracy with which Monarch categorized my Amazon Purchases was amazing. What i purchased is noted in the 'notes' section for the transaction. If you use Monarch Money, I highly recommend you install the extension.
  • (2025-05-26) Matthew Galek: Wow, this is a fantastic add-on and value add to Monarch. This is a reason why I pay annually for Monarch and why it is so much better than the days of Mint.
  • (2025-05-25) Deanna Cheatham: Cannot get it to work. Support said it won't work if I have over 180 transactions from the last 3 months. I uninstalled to try to get it to only sync new transactions and it just shows it Syncing and then stops. Frustrating - this would have been very helpful to me!
  • (2025-05-23) Nicholas Costa: Took a bit to get this working but it finally synced. Will update if it continues working properly
  • (2025-05-20) Matt Dodge: works great! I was expecting to have to go to the Amazon order screen or something for it to scrape but that isn't even required. It pretty much "just works" once you set up, well done
  • (2025-05-19) Shubham Mandlekar: I had some issues initially with syncing the account, but once it was synced it was seamless. Great way to categories the transactions and keeping track of things you buy on Amazon.
  • (2025-05-16) Warren Wertheim: Doesn't seem to work on MS Bing
  • (2025-05-16) C G: Brilliant. Thank you for solving this extremely frustrating problem that's bugged me for year. :)
  • (2025-05-15) Lincoln Pasquina: If you want a budget tool, especially to replace Mint, you should use Monarch. And if you use Monarch and buy anything from Amazon, you should use this extension. Instead of all your Amazon purchases disappearing into "Shopping," or having to navigate Amazon's Byzantine system of orders to connect the dots, it brings the item description into the Monarch app as notes. It saves me so much frustration. Set it up once and it runs in the background.
  • (2025-05-15) Alex Trost: The connection is so easy but the cherry on top is the accurate auto-categorization! Love love love.
  • (2025-05-12) Justin Barad: Love this. Except I'm unable to sync anything older than 3 months. Just get spinny wheel.
  • (2025-05-12) Christopher W-Moriarty: Still needs some work! The "Sync older orders" doesn't work for me at all. Drilling into, for example "Import orders from 2024" just sits and spins. Nothing in Chrome's inspector console log. Last 3 months works great, I've logged in/out and reinstalled the extension a few times.
  • (2025-05-09) Jake Orlowicz: Basic funtionality of the add-on works flawlessly. The last 3 months of orders were easily imported and the automatic categroizations make sense. Manually syncing older orders has been hit or miss for me. After several attempts, I got it to work for one of the previous years by ensuring both Amazon and Monarch were recently logged in, then making sure my laptop did not go to sleep while the add-on was still working. Hopefully this (one-time) historical importing process can be made more robust in the future.
  • (2025-05-09) Andrej Walilko: worked great for me out of the box, splitting and categorizing transactions. of course i always review by hand before doing a month-end, but it seems pretty accurate! excited to see this applied to other vendors like aliexpress or walmart!
  • (2025-05-09) Georgi: It's a great idea and a feature that is a must. However, more than 70% of my transactions are unmatched even though the exact amount is found in my monarch transactions. Very strange.
  • (2025-05-08) Mike Williamson: Whoever thought of this idea gets a raise. Thank you very much.
  • (2025-05-08) Eric Terry: I like this functionality and think it could be applied to other services, such as Venmo. However, I would really want to see the name of the product I bought in the merchant field (or at least show the item name in a column in transactions). It's not easy to see the notes field in Monarch and you can't add it to the list views.
  • (2025-05-08) Josh Ramynke: I was really excited to try this out, but after spending a couple of days trying trying to get it to work, the sync consistently fails without any clear error messages or explanation of what went wrong.
  • (2025-05-08) Dave Gilbert: Glorious! Given the breadth of Amazon's offerings, categorizing every purchase as "shopping" leaves a lot to be desired. Was that $23 from last Wednesday groceries? clothing? health & beauty? Before this Chrome extension, you were on your own to figure that out. But now, it is painlessly done for you! How could you not like that? Monarch uses the items purchased to reclassify your expenses. It seems to work flawlessly so far, synching history to include the last 60 days or so as soon as you install and log in. I just discovered settings to allow pulling older history, going back multiple years - bravo! Within the extension you can see that Monarch plans future expansion to include other major retailers such as Costco, Walmart, etc. For us, Amazon was the most important vendor, but I look forward to seeing this working with many other stores soon.
  • (2025-05-08) Sal Vacanti: Fantastic addition to an already great application!
  • (2025-05-07) Erik Granum: Finally! For those wondering, even though it's a Chrome extension it will categorize all Amazon purchases, including those made through the Amazon app. And it has a neat little bubble you can click for each expense that tells you what it was to confirm the categorization. Well done.
  • (2025-05-07) Lorie Marrero: Bravo to Monarch for solving our biggest problem - categorizing our Amazon transactions! They are numerous and this is so tedious. I would love it to go back a little more in time, like 6 mos to a year. But so far so good!
  • (2025-05-07) Ryan Giblett: yeah it's actually kind of lame that it only syncs recent data. Otherwise it would be really cool.
  • (2025-05-07) Angelo Cretella: Awesome, Long over due. Minor complaint preventing a full 5 star review......its only auto syncing the last 3 months of data, wish it would categorize all of 2025.
  • (2025-05-07) Seth: Works great and a seamless setup!
  • (2025-05-07) Rosalind Schonwald: We needed this so badly (Amazon is one of our biggest expenses...are we wasting money? Are the purchases necessary? Who knows!), and now we have it and it works perfectly! Thank you!
  • (2025-05-07) Brandon Adams: I've been waiting for this! Seems to work well.
  • (2025-05-07) Andrew Lee: Works exactly as described. Everything was incredibly well thought out and simple to use. The extension is transparent in its design and uses AI appropriately. This will be a huge value add for the user. Hopefully refunds will be supported in the future. The whole team should be extremely proud of this extension.
  • (2025-05-07) Zachery Baker: Great feature! This will make budgeting so much more accurate with Monarch.
  • (2025-05-06) Vincent Santiago: Does what it says. A major time sync is having to go back and see what we ordered while reviewing transactions. One thing it does which is great is that it puts in the notes exactly what you purchased. Having that automated will be nice. Yes, they are getting access to a lot of personal information....but at this point with the amount of data they have on me, it is what it is. If you plan on running for President, I'd suggest not getting this Extension.
  • (2025-05-06) Narek Zograbian: It just works! It's like magic. You download the extension, connect your Monarch account, and voila! I haven't run into any issues and I didn't even need to read a complicated help center article or set up guide. Super simple to use and makes Monarch a joy.
  • (2025-05-06) Vishal A: Absolutely incredible. Well done Monarch team! 👏🏽
  • (2025-05-02) Billy Wang: When I started using Monarch I right away wanted this feature as a heavy Amazon user and wanting to do as little manual work as possible. I signed up to this already-existing feature request and surprisingly got invited to this early release in a couple of months (expected big software changes to usually be very slow). It worked really well, within the constraints set out by the early access. I'm cannot wait to use this in the real app! Also want to give kudos to the support team at Monarch - they respond always within a day and actually reads and addresses what you wrote. Refreshing when most companies give you robot script responses.
  • (2025-05-02) Aaron Esterling: This is working great so far. I hope other retailers are added soon and work as seamlessly as the Amazon integration does.
  • (2025-05-02) John Lively: Great feature! Works perfectly to sync Amazon transactions with Monarch
  • (2025-05-01) Thomas Brandt: Now this is what we're talking about! I've been wanting something like this forever. I've been using personal finance software a very long time, and just recently switched to Monarch. Perfect timing! Monarch apparently is able to use AI to go into your Amazon data data (in this case) and intelligently scrape what it needs, then categorizes your purchase correctly. It even adds a tag and pulls in your order notes. How cool is that?! This will definitely shake up your budgeting experience for the better! 👍
  • (2025-05-01) Emil Z: Incredible. Works perfectly. Splits and labels transactions correctly. I especially love that you can import a year at a time for all of your history. To get this to work correctly, make sure you're logged in to your Amazon and Monarch account and follow the directions. FYI the item names are uploaded as Notes on each Transaction. 10/10. Incredible work Monarch, one of the best features ever released.
  • (2025-04-30) Daynon Matthews: Above and Beyond way to go Monarch Team!
  • (2025-04-30) Tom Anderschat: exactly what i needed.
  • (2025-04-30) Nicholas Nelson: This is exactly what I wanted. Stoked to not have to break things up manually
  • (2025-04-30) aj t: Can I give this zero stars? First, using a browser extension is lame. Second? It doesn't work at all. Wondering if/how it works with amazon business accounts, or amazon accounts that use passkeys, etc. Was waiting for this for a long time, and this turns out to be a dud.
