Klondike Solitaire is a classic and engaging card game that you can now enjoy as an offline Chrome extension, completely free!
Objective
The goal of Klondike Solitaire is to build four foundation piles, each containing all the cards of one suit in ascending order from Ace to King. You need to strategically move cards to achieve this, ensuring that each suit is stacked correctly.
Setup
The game starts with a standard 52-card deck dealt into seven tableau piles, with the number of cards in each pile increasing from one to seven. The top card of each pile is face up, while the others are face down. There are also four foundation piles and a stock pile.
Gameplay
- Tableau Piles: Cards in the tableau can be moved based on descending order and alternating colors. For example, a black five can be played on a red six.
- Foundation Piles: Aces must be moved to the foundation piles as soon as they become available. Cards in the appropriate suit are then played on these aces in sequence (2, 3, 4, etc.).
- Stock Pile: When no more moves are available in the tableau, you can draw three cards at a time from the stock pile. The top card of these can be used for building on the piles or played on a foundation.
- Empty Spaces: Only a King can fill an empty space in the layout.
Strategies
To win, it's crucial to:
- Uncover Hidden Cards: Focus on revealing face-down cards in the tableau to increase your options.
- Clear Columns: Aim to remove cards blocking face-down ones to get more opportunities to build sequences.
- Build Foundation Piles Evenly: Avoid sending cards to the foundation piles too quickly, as this can limit your ability to build sequences in the tableau.
