• (2025-08-28) Elliot Luchansky: I literally have not been able to get Mariner to successfully achieve a single browser-based task. Not one. Way behind what can be done with Operator (OpenAI), Comet (Perplexity), and while not apples-to-apples even Agent Mode in ChatGPT or Manus. Very surprising given Google's history pioneering what the browsing experience has felt like for most of the history of widely-accepted world wide web along with Gemini/DeepMind's positioning among the frontier models.

From what is online: - Mariner is only available in the US - Mariner is only available to people who subscribed to Google AI Ultra - Mariner is a standalone agentic browser So from what I understand -> Mariner Companion plugs into your regular Chrome and watches what you do, in order to make it run on the Mariner browser later on as automated tasks. CONCLUSION: Anyone who cannot download the Mariner browser and does not fill the previously stated conditions cannot use the Mariner Companion extension
