Objective:
The goal of Solitaire Golf is to remove all cards from the seven columns by moving them to the waste pile. You achieve this by playing cards that are either one number higher or one number lower than the top card on the waste pile.
Setup:
To start, seven columns of five overlapping cards each are dealt from a standard 52-card deck. The remaining cards form a stock pile. One card is placed as the foundation card to initiate the game.
Gameplay:
- Only the topmost card in each column can be moved to the waste pile.
- Cards must be played in sequence, either one rank higher or one rank lower than the top card on the waste pile, regardless of suit.
- When no moves are available, you can draw a card from the stock pile to continue playing.
- There is no redeal, and the game ends when the stock pile is exhausted and no more moves can be made.
Scoring:
The game consists of nine rounds. Your score is determined by the number of cards left in the columns at the end of each round. A lower score indicates better performance, with a score of 45 or lower considered par and a score of zero or lower being perfect.
