Description from store
SpeedNotes lets teachers jot quick notes about students and see those notes automatically when grading in Canvas SpeedGrader. Click the extension icon to add a note for any student from any page. When you open SpeedGrader, SpeedNotes shows that student’s note automatically. If you create a note while in SpeedGrader, the student name is auto-filled; you can also type names manually on other pages.
It’s fast to add, edit, and delete notes. If a note already exists for a student, you can choose to replace it or append your new text. A simple “Note usage” percentage helps you understand how much space is left, and the extension prevents saves that would exceed the storage limit so you don’t lose work.
Notes are saved using Chrome Sync for your signed-in browser profile. There are no external servers.
Permissions: the “tabs” permission is used only to detect Canvas SpeedGrader pages so the student name can be auto-filled.
What’s new in 1.0.3:

- (2025-03-04) Steven Park: This is the piece that's been missing from Canvas. Provides critical information about students in the place where you interact with them most--grading their submissions. Enables authentic student-teacher relationship building around student performance. Instructure should look at how this works and make it native in Canvas. It's incredible. Scott is incredible. He should be the next president, or at least the secretary of education. With this extension he has added more to the field of education that the former owner of WWE ever will.
