✂️ ChatGPT Text Cleaner – Auto-replace annoying characters in ChatGPT output
If you use ChatGPT a lot and always find yourself manually replacing em dashes (—) with hyphens (-), removing smart quotes, or cleaning up weird formatting… this extension was made for you.
⚙️ How It Works
By default, the extension:
- Automatically replaces em dashes with normal hyphens
- Runs in the background while you're using ChatGPT
- Highlights the affected line (yellow) and replaced characters (green) so you can see exactly what changed — clear but not disruptive
🧠 Customizable Text Transformations
You can easily define your own replacement rules:
1. Add what text or character you want to replace (e.g. “smart quotes” → ")
2. Choose what you want to replace it with
3. Toggle individual rules on/off anytime
