Intelligent YouTube video filtering using in-browser AI classification

Hey! 👋 This is a browser extension I made to help filter out unwanted content from YouTube. It uses some ML magic to automatically detect and blur videos that might be clickbait/spam/etc.
What it does 🤔
-> Automatically blurs out videos that look spammy or clickbaity
-> Works on both desktop YouTube and mobile (m.youtube.com)
-> Shows you why a video was filtered (clickbait, spam, etc)
-> Super lightweight - doesn't slow down your browsing
-> Works in background - no need to click anything

- (2025-08-01) Tom Schi: It is a great Addon, thanks for sharing your great work! 😍 Unfortunately, the addon has very troublesome problems: ❯ Videos are repeatedly classified completely incorrectly ❯ But then the addon blocks the video completely - you can't play it anyway ❯ You can't prevent the addon from making recognized videos with blur unreadable. So if you still want to watch a blocked video, you have to deactivate the addon. I have four suggestions for Filters: ❯ Hide videos that have been viewed less than n times (e.g. 100 times, the number should be customizable) ❯ Hide videos from channels that have less than n subscribers (e.g. 50 subscribers, the number should be customizable) ❯ Maybe you can calculate a factor like this: “80% likely to be clickbait” (the value should be customizable). The idea: If the probability is greater than the specified limit, the video is hidden ❯ Maybe you can calculate a factor like this: “80% likely to be fake news” (the value should be customizable). The idea: If the probability is greater than the specified threshold, the video is hidden Thanks a lot, kind regards, Thomas
