Tabs open with flair, close with care — you're the one who steers them where.
Tab Positioner lets you customize the position of new tabs and control which tab becomes active after you close one.
Notice:
* Enabling two or more similar tab-controlling extensions simultaneously may cause compatibility issues.
Features:
* New Tab Position: Decide where new tabs open.
* Link Tab Position: Set different rules for tabs opened from links in the foreground or background.
* Popup Position: Open popups as tabs, following the same rules as links. (Experimental)
* Tab Activation: Choose which tab gets focus after you close one.
* Sync Settings: Your tab position preferences sync across all your devices with Chrome's built-in sync feature.
* Dark Mode: The extension automatically matches Chrome's dark mode.
Permissions:
* The "Read your browsing history" permission is used solely to detect whether a newly opened tab is the default blank New Tab (chrome://newtab) in order to enable the extension's features. No other browsing history is collected, requested, or accessed.

- (2025-08-17) Doppel: It's wonderful. There are many extensions with similar functions, but most of them have bugs and are unstable. This extension is stable and has been working 100% normally so far. I have a request for an additional feature. If possible, I would like to see an option to open pop-up windows as tabs.
- (2025-07-30) sss sss: Does not work as expected. New tab opens in random order, after closing tab activates another random tab.
