Streamlines UAT testing by capturing screenshots into PDF/Word reports.
🐰 AutoEvidence: Smart UAT Screenshot Tool
Streamline your User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Capture evidence instantly, organize it automatically, and generate professional reports in seconds.
AutoEvidence is designed for QA testers, developers, and business analysts who need to document test execution without the hassle of manually pasting screenshots into documents.
🚀 Key Features
1. Two Powerful Modes
Individual Capture: Take a quick screenshot. It downloads immediately as a PNG.
Session Mode: Start a test session. Capture as many steps as you need. When you finish, get a single PDF or Word document containing all screenshots in sequence.
2. Smart File Naming
Forget renaming files like screenshot (1).png.
Files are automatically named using your Test Case ID and the Date (e.g., TC_LOGIN_001_2025_11_19.png).
3. One-Click Reports
In Session Mode, you don't get a folder full of loose images.
You get a formatted Evidence Report (PDF or Doc) with the Test Case ID, timestamps, and source URLs for every step.
4. Keyboard Shortcuts
Stay in the flow. Use Ctrl + Shift + S (Mac: Command + Shift + S) to capture evidence without opening the extension popup.
📖 How to Use
Mode A: Quick Capture (Single Screenshot)
Use this for ad-hoc bugs or single-step evidence.
1. Click the AutoEvidence icon in your browser toolbar.
2. Enter a Test Case ID (e.g., TC_01).
3. Click Capture.
4. Result: A PNG image downloads immediately, named TC_01_2025_11_19.png.
Mode B: Session Mode (Full Test Case Execution)
Use this when documenting a full workflow (e.g., "User Registration Flow").
1. Setup:
--> Open the extension.
--> Toggle Session Mode to ON.
--> Select your Report Format: PDF or Word.
--> Enter the Test Case ID.
2. Start:
--> Click Start Session. The icon will change to indicate recording is active.
3. Execute & Capture:
--> Go through your test steps.
--> At each step, press Ctrl + Shift + S to capture.
--> Note: No files download yet. They are stored safely in memory.
4. Finish:
--> Open the extension and click End Session & Download.
5. Result: A single document downloads containing every screenshot you captured, perfectly ordered and labeled.
⚙️ Technical & Privacy
Offline First: AutoEvidence works entirely within your browser. No screenshots are ever sent to a cloud server.
Permissions: Requires access to "Active Tab" to take the screenshot and "Downloads" to save the file.
💡 Pro Tips
The Shortcut is King: You do not need to keep the popup open. Once a session is started, just keep pressing Ctrl + Shift + S as you navigate through the application.
Forgot the ID? If you capture a single screenshot without an ID, it defaults to Evidence_YYYY_MM_DD.png.
Word vs. PDF: Use Word if you need to add manual comments or highlight areas on the screenshots later. Use PDF for a secure, read-only record.
