Invisible, real-time compliance monitoring for generative AI in Google Chrome.
Overview
The Cyberaura AI Monitor extension for Chrome gives organizations seamless, passive oversight of employee use of generative AI tools—such as ChatGPT, Google Bard, Claude, Midjourney, and more—directly in the Chrome browser. Once installed, it silently logs AI site visits, optional clipboard copy events, and periodic “heartbeat” signals to your Cyberaura compliance dashboard, ensuring IT, security, and compliance teams maintain continuous visibility—without disrupting workflows.
Key Features
Passive Domain Detection
Automatically detects and logs visits to the top 20+ AI platforms in Chrome—including chat.openai.com, bard.google.com, claude.ai, midjourney.com, and more. No user interaction required; every navigation event to a monitored domain is recorded.
Heartbeat Reporting
Sends a secure “I’m alive” signal every 60 seconds to confirm the extension and Chrome session remain active. Detects browser closures or network interruptions and keeps your dashboard updated with real-time device status.
Clipboard Monitoring (Opt-In)
When enabled by an administrator, captures text copied to the Chrome clipboard to flag potential leaks of confidential data or PII. Administrators configure redaction or alert thresholds in the Cyberaura policy console.
Secure, Compliant Data Handling
All telemetry is transmitted over TLS to your Supabase backend. Supabase Row-Level Security (RLS) policies enforce per-organization data isolation. Only AI-related URLs, timestamps, and (optionally) clipboard snippets are collected—unrelated browsing remains private.
Stealth-Mode Operation
Runs silently in the background with no pop-ups or banners. A minimal toolbar icon indicates presence but requires no action. Enterprise-deployable via MDM or GPO for zero-click installation.
How It Works
Install & Authenticate
Install from the Chrome Web Store.
Click the Cyberaura icon and sign in with corporate credentials to bind your device.
Automatic Monitoring
An entry is added to ai_usage_logs on each AI domain navigation (URL, timestamp, device ID).
A “heartbeat” entry is inserted into agent_heartbeats every 60 seconds.
Clipboard copy events (if enabled) are recorded in clipboard_logs.
Real-Time Dashboard
Events stream live into your Cyberaura Horizon dashboard.
View device health, usage heatmaps, risk alerts, and exportable audit logs (CSV, JSON, PDF).
Installation & Configuration
Load Extension
Navigate to chrome://extensions.
Enable Developer Mode and “Load unpacked” for testing, or install directly from the store.
Bind to Cyberaura
Sign in on first click of the toolbar icon.
The extension auto-registers your device and begins streaming data.
Administrator Controls
In the Cyberaura console, enable/disable clipboard capture, adjust alert thresholds, and manage device policies.
