🧩 Gmail Tag Replacer helps you personalize your emails faster and more easily.
It automatically replaces special tags in Gmail messages with recipients’ names — making your emails feel more personal with zero effort.
⚠️ About Chrome’s warning during installation:
You might see a message like “Be careful — this extension doesn’t meet Enhanced Safe Browsing standards.”
This happens because the developer is new and hasn’t yet built up a trust history with Google.
There’s no need to worry.
This extension has been reviewed by Google and runs entirely on your computer — it doesn’t collect or send any data anywhere.
It only activates in Gmail and simply replaces tags like {{first_name}} with actual names while you write emails.
âś… How it works:
When you compose or reply to an email:
Add one or more recipients
Insert your message using special tags
The extension automatically replaces them with actual names — no clicks or extra steps!
🏷️ Supported tags:
{{name}} or {{n}} → Full name (e.g., John Smith)
{{first_name}} or {{f}} → First name (e.g., John)
{{last_name}} or {{l}} → Last name (e.g., Smith)
đź’ˇ Example:
If your template is:
Hello {{f}}, just following up on our meeting.
And your recipient is Alice Johnson, the message becomes:
Hello Alice, just following up on our meeting.
If multiple recipients are added, the names are joined like:
Hello Alice, Bob and John, ...
âś… Works with Gmail templates:
You can save your messages with tags as Gmail templates. Just remember to:
Leave the “To” field empty
Write your message using tags
Save as a Gmail template
đź”’ No personal data is stored or transmitted.
The extension runs locally and only replaces tags in the Gmail compose window.
