This is a beta release, and the extension has the following features:
🧠 Smarter MCQs: Better question variety
⏸️ Auto-pause overlay: Video pauses until you answer
♻️ Checkpoint resume: Restart from the last checkpoint when you get answers wrong
🧩 Background-safe: Keeps running even if the popup is closed

🔊 Tab-audio only: Captures only the current tab’s audio (not your microphone)
🕒 Custom intervals: Choose how often questions appear (e.g., every 1–5 minutes)
#️⃣ Question count: Set how many MCQs per interval
🛑 Video control: Auto-pause for the question; resume on correct answer
🔐 Privacy-first: No ad tracking; least-privilege permissions
🎯 Randomized options: Answer choices are shuffled every time
🖼️ In-page MCQs: Clean overlay that blocks distractions until you respond
🧭 Works across multiple sites
🧮 Quotas/limits: Free plan in beta has a limit of 100 minutes and 40 questions (whichever exhausts first)
⭐️ How it works
• Click Start to begin
• LaserFocus captures the active tab’s audio, sends it to a transcriber for transcription, and uses LLM to generate short MCQs.
• At your chosen interval, the video pauses and a question appears.
• Answer correctly to resume; answer wrong to retry or restart from checkpoint.
⭐️ Privacy & Data
• Captures tab audio only with your action; no microphone access.
• Audio is sent to Deepgram for transcription; text is sent to Perplexity to generate MCQs.
• No selling of data
• Storage: audio/transcripts are not stored by LaserFocus; basic usage counts kept for quota enforcement.

- (2025-08-26) CHANDHREN B: After playing the video , adjusting the metrics like "Interval" and "Questions per checkpoint" and hitting the start button the video continues playing for more than the set "Interval time" and never pauses and gives us a Quiz based on the transcription. Initially i thought this is a issue with brave browser and switched to chrome but still it doesn't work as stated. So in short the extension doesn't work , 4 stars for the innovative idea wish i had an extension like this which will quiz me often and engage more with the content actively.
