Freeze Facebook Auto-Refresh
Extension Actions
Stops Facebook from auto-refreshing when you return to the tab. Actively maintained as Facebook changes.
(Facebook frequently changes how it works, so this extension may not always be perfect — but it's actively maintained and updated to keep up.)
Freeze Facebook Auto-Refresh stops Facebook from automatically reloading your feed when you return to the tab, so you won’t lose your place. It works by blocking Facebook’s background reload triggers that normally run when you switch tabs or windows.
Simple ON/OFF toggle from the toolbar
Keeps your feed exactly where you left it
Works on all Facebook versions (www, mobile, web.facebook.com, and regional variants)
Lightweight – no tracking, no data collection
Runs entirely in your browser
How to use:
1. Install the extension.
2. Click the toolbar icon to switch between ON and OFF.
3. When OFF, Facebook works normally. When ON, auto-refresh is blocked.
Note: If you turn the blocker OFF on a page where it was already active, you may need to refresh the Facebook tab to fully restore normal behavior.
Privacy:
This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All functionality runs locally in your browser.

- It is not currently working, but when it does it is great. Normalize rating the utility of a store app, not when it breaks due to Chrome or Website updates.

- Doesn't work for me. Facebook url in my browser: web.facebook.com (redirects automatically from www.facebook.com) URLs this extension requires access: m.facebook.com www.facebook.com I strongly doubt it will work with these parameters
