The DenseWiki extension was made for deep readers and scholars, to make your life easier and more fun.
Have you ever been in the zone, reading a great technical piece, then bam—unfamiliar jargon or a new concept? Suddenly, you're switching between tabs, trying to understand what it is. At best, you lose your flow and valuable time. At worst, you fall down an internet rabbit hole you didn't intend to.
That constant context switching is more than just a speed bump; it's a productivity killer.
The DenseWiki extension allows you to look up technical jargon and concepts while you're on the same page, with a single click or keyboard shortcut, and get a quick explanation that's just enough to keep you going.
It automatically works on all webpages and PDFs — smooth and without friction.
But it doesn't just give you a cookie-cutter explanation that any LLM could give you:
1. It identifies other *implicit* relevant concepts at play, which you might not even think of looking up (you don't know what you don't know).
2. It allows you to mark your level of familiarity with each concept, and save it into your own "DenseWiki" (so that over time, you can see a knowledge graph of your knowledge)
3. It allows you to add your own explanations to the concepts, in your own words, and join a community of other scholars around the world doing the same.
4. Supports both English and Japanese (with support for more languages coming soon). Meaning, you can look up English terms and get the explanation in Japanese, and vice versa.
