This extension is one of a kind. I made it myself because I am a YouTube creator and looked everywhere for an app like this and found nothing after hours of searching. Literally the ai at the top of Google search told me there wasn't anything when I asked.
So since I need more experience as a software engineer anyway as it is what I am in training for; I thought this was a great opportunity for two birds with one stone.
This extension saves YouTube content creators (especially growing/developing ones) endless hours of mental and emotional distress from every time they ever need to just do a little work in YouTube Studio.
Simply:
1. Turn on the "UnViewTube" extension switch at chrome://extensions/ after downloading it at the Chrome Web Store.
2. Click the puzzle piece icon at the top right of the Chrome window.
3. Click the pin button next to UnViewTube.
4. Click the UnViewTube icon that pops up next to the puzzle piece and check the box that appears. The first time you do this you may need to hit refresh button on the chrome extension and youtube studio sites before it works, but after this it should work fine to toggle it on and off in real time with this check box as many times as you choose with no refreshing.

When you never even needed the info on the metrics to begin with to do activities like editing, Studio forces you to stare face to face at your exact numbers of comments, views, and likes before you have even come close to reaching your goals for these; and get stuck in an endless crappy self-fulling prophecy of "why are they so low?" -distress and obsession over metrics takes compounding toll on content quality- whenever you are working in YouTube Studio (which, be honest, is an unavoidable frequent pattern at the starting stages until now).
Especially when if all you actually wanted was to just hop in and out of YouTube studio to add a dang timestamp to a video or something.
This extension is super simple. It only has one setting, making it so that nothing can ever possibly stand in the way of you having this peace of mind again; especially not a bad UI.
Enjoy the unmatched bliss of the most annoying thing aspiring YouTube content creators deal with every time they get to work never being a thing again. If you ever do decide to check these metrics, now it is a choice instead of an intrusion.
Also, the important metrics will still be available in the analytics tab; which as we know, isn't necessary to navigate to at any point if all you need to do is edit a video or something. So if you want to, you can also just keep the UnViewTube box permanently checked; and then only bother looking at important metrics, and only when you feel the time is right.
Now the creative process and the looming shadow of societal expectations can stay nice and separate like they should have always been. It's a proven scientific fact that human creativity functionality starts stalling under pressure, and that the flow state gets all thrown out of whack by pressures outside of whatever activity you are in a flow state with.
You want your content to be top quality, and your spirit to be free. You want your vibe to be full of soul and a detached, attractive magnetism instead of full of desperation and hunger for bigger metrics that ironically end up evolving into the very character trait that drive the viewers away to begin with. You owe this to yourself. You deserve to have what you want, especially when your intentions are so pure and positive.
