Thank you this addon saved me a thousand clicks. However due to recent updates to Chrome the download bar has been removed so this app finally became obsolete for me.

I like this extension but just now it didn't do anything when I pressed Alt+W. After changing the keyboard shortcut to no avail, I reinstalled the extension and somehow it works again.

LOL..what a simple program yet Google cant even implemented it, or maybe they just didnt even want to make a shortcut for this. Thanks Dev

I was annoyed because of the download bar. I've wondered if someone made an extension to close it, I had no hope but someone did! thank you so much :)) it works great.

Found for extension which move bar to another place like made in Yandex Browser (top-right corner instead of settings button). But no one made it. So, close with hotkey more comfortable than with mouse or touchpad. Thank you.

Really glad you took the time to create a shortcut that could accomplish this simple task. However, as others have mentioned it clears the whole download list. Not sure if you're working on changing this already, but that change would make this shortcut perfect.

Un appui du raccourci alt+W et hop, la gênante barre des téléchargements disparaît. Inconvénient de taille : par cette opération l'historique des téléchargements est effacé. En tout cas, moi ça me gêne

Works as expected. But like others have already mentioned, it also clears the complete download history. Which is … not nice. I guess this is because there's no official programmatic way to simply just close the bar.

Was hoping for a shortcut that closes the download bar without clearing the Downloads list (which saves previous download location history) This does the same thing as Always Clear Downloads - except that one is automatic and you need to use a shortcut for this
