TOT – Initiative Tracker
Keep combat organized and fast-paced with the Initiative Tracker — a lightweight overlay designed for Dungeon Masters running tabletop role-playing games on a digital map display.
Features
-Simple Character Management – Add player characters, NPCs, or monsters with just a name and a color-coded tag.
-Color-Coded Entries – Assign custom colors for quick visual sorting, with a golden highlight automatically applied to PCs.
-Drag-and-Drop Reordering – Rearrange initiative order seamlessly by dragging entries into place.
-Add & Remove On the Fly – Insert new combatants as reinforcements arrive or clear them when they fall.
-Lock & Move Anywhere – Keep the tracker pinned in one spot or reposition it anywhere on your screen for maximum flexibility.
-Persistent State – The tracker remembers its position and entries between sessions, so you can pick up right where you left off.
Intended Function
The Initiative Tracker gives Dungeon Masters a clean, always-available way to manage turn order without breaking immersion. Whether you’re running D\&D, Pathfinder, or any other TTRPG system, the tool keeps everyone on the same page with minimal fuss.
Inspiration
Many DMs running games on TVs, monitors, or projectors struggle with physical trackers (erasers, magnets, sticky notes) that don’t translate well to a digital map. The TOT Initiative Tracker bridges this gap by giving you a tool purpose-built for in-person digital play.
Installation
Simply add the extension to Chrome (or any Chromium-based browser). The tracker appears in the TOT Dock, a shared toolbar for all TOT extensions. From the dock, you can toggle the tracker on and off at will.
The TOT Dock Ecosystem
The Initiative Tracker is part of the growing TOT (Tabletop Overlay Tools) ecosystem — lightweight overlays designed for Dungeon Masters running their games on digital displays or inside Virtual TableTops (VTTs). TOT tools solve missing functions for in-person play, giving DMs a way to:
-Reveal progress and tension with the Progress Clock
-Place digital templates with the AOE Plotter
-Control pacing with the Countdown Timer
-Track weather effects, fog of war, and more with upcoming tools
Ideas for Use
-Manage initiative in D\&D 5e or Pathfinder combat.
-Color-code PCs vs NPCs for quick reference.
-Track rival factions, chase participants, or social encounters in initiative order.
-Combine with the Progress Clock to visualize countdowns and dramatic events while combat unfolds.
