Description from store Seek and Hide, FocusED by Mr. Teachnology / Jay Murphy Learning disabilities such as ADHD are often misunderstood. It is not that students with ADHD can not focus, but that all too often their focus is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Give every student a GPS to academic success with Seek and Hide, FocusEd. Seek and Hide is a free chrome extension that allows the user to enhance their focus upon any webpage or document. Once the user has added the Seek and Hide extension, simply open any web page or google document, use the text box to find your focus, and the rest fades to black. Text heavy documents and websites are difficult to navigate not only for the easily distracted learner, but also for students who struggle with decoding and reading comprehension, as well as for those who are visually impaired. In this fast paced society, the 21st Century Learner is overstimulated and under focused. Seek and Hide allows every educator to serve as a FocusEd facilitator. Use Seek and Hide to share only part of a story with your class, and have them make predictions to determine the rest. Block out parts of sentences so that your students must use context clues to decipher unfamiliar vocabulary words. Use Seek and Hide to chunk reading passages, and improve comprehension. Make longer literature more manageable as students focus on just one section at a time. Once you have modeled Seek and Hide as a learning tool for your students, allow your class to take the wheel. Challenge your students to use Seek and Hide to eliminate extraneous information from the web and from text documents. Have a great web page to share with your class, but frustrated by advertisements and irrelevant information? Seek and Hide allows you to keep what you want, and hide what you don’t. Seek and Hide, what will you find? For questions, please contact Jay at [email protected]
